Mechanisms for Parallel Data Transport
2012Evolving paradigms of parallel transport mechanisms are necessary to satisfy the ever increasing need of high performing communication systems. Parallel transport mechanisms can be described as a technique to send several data simultaneously using several parallel channels.

Compliant Parallel-Guiding Mechanisms
Volume 2A: 24th Biennial Mechanisms Conference, 1996Abstract The rigid-link parallel-guiding (or parallelogram) mechanism is perhaps one of the simplest closed-loop mechanisms to analyze. Compliant parallel-guiding mechanisms, often called plate-spring mechanisms, are in common use in many applications. Advances in compliant mechanism modeling and synthesis have provided an opportunity to

Classification of Parallel Mechanisms
2013This chapter provides a systematic classification of parallel mechanisms based upon the latest research on the architectures of parallel mechanism. The list will be classified by increasing numbers of degrees of freedom, from 2 to 6, companied with the motion pattern of the mobile platform. Various mechanical architectures of parallel mechanism will be

Workspace of Parallel Mechanisms
2013This chapter deals with a geometric determination of the theoretical and usable workspace for a parallel mechanism. Several parallel mechanisms including a planar 5R parallel mechanism, a DELTA mechanism, several 3-DOF spatial parallel mechanisms, and 6-RUS parallel mechanism are illustrated.

Singularity of Parallel Mechanisms
2013This chapter covers the singularity analysis of parallel mechanisms. The singularities of parallel mechanisms are classified into three types. For the first type of singularity, the mechanism loses 1 or more DOFs, while for the second type of singularity, the mechanism gains 1 or more DOFs. The third type of singularity occurs when the first and second

A Parallel Mechanism for Describing Silhouettes
IEEE Transactions on Computers, 1972We describe a parallel mechanism, based on an array of circularly nutating photodetectors, that computes an approximation of the density of slopes of the boundary of any piecewise regular silhouette. This density, when properly normalized, is invariant with respect to the size, translation, and orientation of the given silhouette.

Parallel Mechanism for Precision Sun Tracking
ASME 2010 10th Biennial Conference on Engineering Systems Design and Analysis, Volume 2, 2010The paper describes a 2-DOF parallel kinematic machine designed to achieve precise solar tracking. The mechanism has been developed keeping in mind that solar concentration technology requires a precise alignment of photovoltaic modules and sun radiation, with error allowance much lower than those ensured by traditional sun trackers.

Mechanisms for Parallel Computers
1993Most existing parallel computers have similar structure. However, they are specialized to a particular parallel programming model by a set of special-purpose, hardwired mechanisms. We propose a set of generalized mechanisms for parallel computing that efficiently support most proposed parallel programming models. The mechanisms we propose are primitive

A Parallel Computer Organization and Mechanizations
IEEE Transactions on Electronic Computers, 1963This paper describes a type of parallel computer organization which can be regarded as lying at one extreme of a spectrum of possible degrees of parallelism. The organization is dominated by two characteristics, namely, one-bit storage per computational cell and single-level logic at each computational step.

Translational parallel mechanism
2021Translational parallel mechanism comprising three legs, in which each leg is a kinematic chain which comprises: a first cardan joint comprising a first revolute pair and a second revolute pair, a first member connected, at a first end thereof, to a frame by means of the first cardan joint in such a manner that the rotation axis of the first ...
