"Non-numerical aspects of computations on parallel hardware"

1981
The organization and interaction of data is important for both the natural expression and efficient execution of parallel computation. A set of basic non-numerical operations is outlined which is readily implemented on single instruction stream multiple data stream (SIMD) computers; the relevance of this to parallel processing is illustrated in a ...

Numerical simulation of physical phenomena by parallel computing

1987
Beside experiment and theory, computational science is a new methodology, for the advance in research and development in natural and engineering sciences. In many fields numerical simulation becomes more and more important for industrial development and production (e.g. car builders, aircraft industry).

Numerical multiple integration on parallel computers

Computer Physics Communications, 1982
Abstract This paper discusses the implementation of methods for the approximate calculation of multiple integrals on a SIMD parallel computer. Adaptive methods using polynomial integrating basic rules and Monte Carlo and number theoretic basic rules are considered with particular reference to implementation on the ICL DAP computer.

Parallel Computer Architectures for Numerical Simulation

1994
Numerical simulation requires very high performance computer architectures. This can only be achieved by using various forms of parallelism. The second section of this paper gives an introduction to the state-of-the-art in parallel computer architectures and their programming. Today, some open problems remain for the user of such architectures.

Parallel computing of Numerical Manifold Method with OpenMP

2009 IEEE Youth Conference on Information, Computing and Telecommunication, 2009
This paper introduced a parallel implementation of Numerical Manifold Method based on multiprocessor platforms. First, the computing performance for a class of rock engineering problems was analyzed. For solving simultaneous equations is the most time consuming, we choose parallelized Jacobi's iterative method to speed up the computing process.

Logic programming in the numerical algorithm design for parallel computations

Neural Parallel Sci. Comput., 1993
Summary: We consider some aspects of applying logic programming for the parallel algorithm design in the field of numerical computations. An approach is based on the linear operator theory and operator block representation in Banach spaces. One shows structure specifications of free (computer independent) algorithms and computer structures with logic ...
