Parallel plate Transmission Line Transformer

2011 IEEE Pulsed Power Conference, 2011
A Transmission Line Transformer (TLT) can be used to transform high-voltage nanosecond pulses. These transformers rely on the fact that the length of the pulse is shorter than the transmission lines used. This allows connecting the transmission lines in parallel at the input and in series at the output.

A parallel-plate photoelectron spectrometer

Journal of Physics E: Scientific Instruments, 1968
A simple photoelectron spectrometer employing a parallel-plate electrostatic energy analyser is described. Preliminary results showing good sensitivity down to a resolution of 25 mv are presented.

Heat Flow Between Parallel Plates

The Physics of Fluids, 1959
A study is made of the flow of heat between parallel plates of slightly different temperatures. The problem is described by the linearized Boltzmann equation which is subject to microscopic boundary conditions. We approximate the distribution function by half-range polynomials in velocity space and determine the space-dependent coefficients by forming ...

Parallel Plate Avalanche Counters

AIP Conference Proceedings, 1998
The aim of this laboratory session has been to introduce some of the main characteristics and basic principles of operation of a family of gaseous detectors known as Parallel Plate Avalanche Counters (PPACs). The construction of a simple position-sensitive PPAC is described, and a set of measurements to test its performance is suggested.

Parallel Plate Plastometry

Journal of Rheology, 1932
The methods employed to determine the deformation under stress of soft solids are largely empirical in character. To evaluate the working properties of materials that are molded or extruded, and the “creep,” “cold flow,” or “plasticity” of materials that yield slowly under load, recourse must be had to comparative tests simulating as closely as ...

Parallell-Plate Electron Multipliers

IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science, 1972
A review is given of the properties of parallel plate electron multipliers and present development work is described. In particular the type of multiplier fabricated by RF-sputtering of separate potential divider and secondary emission layers is discussed. This allows optimization of the two functions.

Dielectric breakdown between parallel plates

Physical Review B, 1985
The dielectric-breakdown model is applied to the simulation of the breakdown of a two-dimensional material placed between two equipotential lines with a high potential difference between them. The resulting discharge patterns have an open, treelike structure with a fractal dimensionality of 1.65\ifmmode\pm\else\textpm\fi{}0.05 and resemble diffusion ...

Scattering by parallel plates

Radio Science, 1987
The scattering of electromagnetic fields from the parallel plates is analysed by the use of a new formulation. All the field representations to formulate the equations are expressed by the formal solutions of the Wiener‐Hopf equation for a plate. The mutual fields defined by the multiple scattering due to the parallel plates can be determined by the ...

Characterization of parallel-plate Kiil dialysers

Medical & Biological Engineering, 1972
The local (distributed) behavior of a Kiil dialyser is discussed with the aim of showing the interrelation between the two fluid streams and thus the importance of modeling the system as an interrelated multistream system. A characterization of the dialyser's performance is presented in terms of both an overall log-mean resistance and an effectiveness ...

Parallel Plating for a Sternomanubrial Dislocation

Orthopedics, 2012
Sternomanubrial dislocations are rare injuries. Although few cases of this injury have been reported in the literature, the etiology has varied widely: trampoline injury, seizures, falls from height, sporting injuries, gradual deformities from spine fractures, and motor vehicle collisions.
