Parallel processing architectures for iterative image restoration

International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2003
Mesh and mesh-of-pyramids implementations of iterative image restoration algorithms are proposed. These implementations are based on a single-step algorithm as well as on a multistep iterative algorithm derived from the single step regularized iterative restoration algorithm.

Parallel implementation for iterative image restoration algorithms on a parallel DSP machine

Journal of VLSI signal processing systems for signal, image and video technology, 1993
Many low-level image processing algorithms which are posed as variational problems can be numerically solved using local and iterative relaxation algorithms. Because of the structure of these algorithms, processing time will decrease nearly linearly with the addition of processing nodes working in parallel on the problem.

Parallelization of a Public Image Restoration Algorithm

2007
We present a deconvolution method intended for image restoration. Although the method is computationally heavy, it obtains a good restoration quality. We have successfully achieved the scientific aim of parallelizing the algorithm, obtaining acceptable scalability on shared and distributed memory machines.

A color image restoration with adjacent parallel lines inhibition

12th International Conference on Image Analysis and Processing, 2003.Proceedings., 2004
We focus our attention on the problem of restoring a color image corrupted by blur and noise. This problem is ill-posed in the Hadamard sense. By regularization techniques, it is possible to define the solution of the problem as the minimum of an energy function.

Parallel Processing for Image Restoration

2001
In the practical transmission of block-based coding image, bit errors may occur, which often results in lost block. Error concealment is a widely used technique to conquer the transmission error. Chapter 6 has proved that Best Neighborhood Matching (BNM) algorithm is a very good error concealment approach in terms of restored image quality [[1 ...

A Distributed Strategy for Parallel Power System Restoration

2023 IEEE Belgrade PowerTech, 2023
This paper describes a novel distributed strategy for parallel power system restoration (PPSR). In particular, given an initial partition, as for instance the optimal partition in nominal (non-faulty) conditions, we propose a consensus-based strategy that allows nodes to migrate from one subsystem to another one, in order to minimize a cost function of

A parallel algorithm for image information restoration

Proceedings Fourth International Conference/Exhibition on High Performance Computing in the Asia-Pacific Region, 2000
An image information restoration algorithm based on Long-Range correlation (LR-IIRA) can be efficiently applied in image interpretation, restoration, and error concealment. But this algorithm requires excessive computing time, which restricts its application on large-scale problems and real time problems.

Parallel iterative image restoration algorithms

Proceedings of the 32nd Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2003
Three parallel iterative image restoration algorithms with and without preconditioning are proposed and analyzed. The first algorithm corresponds to a coarse-grained general-purpose multiprocessor computer, the second to a massively parallel computer with synchronization, and the third to a massively parallel computer without synchronization.

Parallel Implementation of a 3D Nonlinear Restoration Algorithm

1998
Real imaging instruments introduce aberrations such as blurring and noise into observed images. Before any proper scientific interpretation and analysis can be carried out on such images, they must be processed further to remove the aberrations. This task is best performed by nonlinear, rather than linear, restoration incorporating a priori knowledge ...
