Parallel architectures for an iterative image restoration algorithm

IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
Mesh of pyramids and pyramid of meshes implementations of an iterative image-restoration algorithm are proposed. These implementations are based on a single-step regularized iterative restoration algorithm. Both architectures are described as a composition of a mesh and a pyramid.

Miniature parallel pins for retention of cast restorations

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1961
Abstract The use of miniature parallel pinholes in cavity preparations for cast gold restorations permits the dentist to use a less stereotyped cavity design. A method of achieving parallelism in alignment of pinholes with subsequent alteration in cavity design has been described.

Identification and restoration using parallel Kalman filters

26th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 1987
In this paper a parallel identification and restoration procedure is described for images with symmetric, noncausal blurs. It is shown that the identification problem can be specified as a parallel set of one-dimensional complex autoregressive moving-average (ARMA) identification problems.

Parallel supramammillary-hippocampal routes: Organization, dysregulation, and restoration

Neuron
In this issue of Neuron, Luo et al.1 report two supramammillary neuronal populations with segregated projections to the dorsal and ventral dentate gyrus that selectively modulate cognitive and emotional processes, respectively. Targeted activation of each pathway alleviates domain-specific behavioral deficits in an Alzheimer's disease mouse model.

The restoring force on a dielectric in a parallel plate capacitor

American Journal of Physics, 2014
We investigate the restoring force on a dielectric slab being pulled from within the volume of a parallel plate capacitor connected to a battery. Using a conformal mapping to treat the fringing electric field exactly, we numerically obtain an expected Hooke's Law restoring force for small displacements, and a diminishing force for a displacement up to ...
