Underwater Image Restoration Based on a Parallel Convolutional Neural Network

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
Restoring degraded underwater images is a challenging ill-posed problem. The existing prior-based approaches have limited performance in many situations due to the reliance on handcrafted features.

The Restoration of the Nativity Church in Bethlehem

open access: yes, 2020
A lot has been said and written so far about the history of the church of the Nativity. Many are the reports, historical documents, scientific articles that can be referenced in retracing the evolution of the church from its origins until today.

Fostering a participatory process for ecological restoration of mangroves in Pantanos de Centla Biosphere Reserve (Tabasco, Mexico)

open access: yesEcosystems and People, 2022
Ecosystem restoration is becoming an urgent global priority to recover degraded areas, especially in tropical regions. Social participation is fundamental for the success of restoration processes, but it needs to be better documented.

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Restoration of Power Systems with AC/DC Conversion Terminal at Receiving-End Considering Parallel Transmission Lines

open access: yesZhongguo dianli, 2019
The path optimization method proposed in previous studies severely restricts the restoration of LCC-HVDC system. To overcome this weakness, this paper studies power system restoration with AC/DC conversion terminal at the receiving-end.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.
