Determine measurement set for parameter estimation in biological systems modeling [PDF]
Parameter estimation is challenging for biological systems modelling since the model is normally of high dimension, the measurement data are sparse and noisy, and the cost of experiments is high. Accurate recovery of parameters depend on the quantity and

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Model Selection Criteria for Segmented Time Series from a Bayesian Approach to Information Compression [PDF]
The principle that the simplest model capable of describing observed phenomena should also correspond to the best description has long been a guiding rule of inference. In this paper a Bayesian approach to formally implementing this principle is employed

Sufficient Statistics and Selection Depending on the Parameter
The concept of "functional sufficiency" or "f-sufficiency" for a class of density functions is introduced and conditions given under which it corresponds to sufficiency as defined by Halmos and Savage [2]. A minimal f-sufficient statistic is defined and shown to exist, and its construction is given.

This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

A Bayesian approach to parameter estimation for kernel density estimation via transformations [PDF]
In this paper, we present a Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) simulation algorithm for estimating parameters in the kernel density estimation of bivariate insurance claim data via transformations.

Robust and Simple ADMM Penalty Parameter Selection
We present a new method for online selection of the penalty parameter for the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) algorithm. ADMM is a widely used method for solving a range of optimization problems, including those that arise in signal ...

Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...
