Solubility Parameter of Selected Sulfonamides

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1971
This investigation was primarily concerned with the application of Hildebrand's solubility equation to the determination of the solubility parameter of selected sulfonamides. The vapor pressure of several selected solvent systems was determined by an isoteniscopic method. These data were used to calculate the solubility parameter of the mixed solvents.

On the Selection of the Regularization Parameter in Stacking

Neural Processing Letters, 2020
Stacking is a model combination technique to improve prediction accuracy. Regularization is usually necessary in stacking because some predictions used in the model combination provide similar predictions. Cross-validation is generally used to select the regularization parameter, but it incurs a high computational cost.

Selection of kernel parameters for KNN

2008 IEEE International Joint Conference on Neural Networks (IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence), 2008
How to choose the optimal parameter is crucial for the kernel method, because kernel parameters perform significantly on the kernel method. In this paper, a novel approach is proposed to choose the kernel parameter for the kernel nearest-neighbor classifier (KNN).

PARAMETER SELECTION FOR PERMUTATION ENTROPY MEASUREMENTS

International Journal of Bifurcation and Chaos, 2007
We investigate the applicability of the permutation entropy H and a synchronization index γ that is based on the changing tendency of temporal permutation entropies to analyze noisy time series from nonstationary dynamical systems with poorly understood properties. Using model systems, we first study the interdependencies of parameters involved in the

On the Selection of the LN Client Implementation Parameters

2020
The Lightning Network (LN) is a payment network deployed on top of Bitcoin. In the LN, the payer and the payee do not need to have an open direct channel to transact: they can transact through channels by means of other users of the network, that act as intermediaries for the payments.

Optimal Parameter Selection of Parabolic Systems

Mathematics of Operations Research, 1980
An optimal parameter selection problem is posed based upon a distributed parameter system with the parameters to be determined appearing in the coefficients of the partial differential equation. For this problem, an analytic expression is derived for the gradient of the performance criterion as a function of the parameters.

Parameters of selected levels in 35Cl

Nuclear Physics A, 1981
Parameters of selected levels in 35 Cl have been determined by means of several techniques, including proton elastic scattering studies, angular distribution measurements, calibration of the excitation energies by a cascade/crossover method and resonance absorption experiments. For the E = 1375, 1683 and 2791 keV resonances we found J π = 5 2 + , while

PARAMETER SELECTION FOR IN-FLIGHT RECORDING

Testing of Manned Flight Systems Conference, 1963
The advent of the highly complex and sophisticated jet-powered aircraft has necessitated development of entirely new concepts in aircraft maintenance. Foremost among the new concepts is the maintenance recording system. Maintenance requirements, previously determined by accumulated operating hours of major components, can now be based upon actual ...

Estimating the Parameter of a Selected Population

Calcutta Statistical Association Bulletin, 1995
Suppose independent samples from k populations with unknown parameters are taken and one of the populations is selected based on tho data and a prespecified rule. The problem is to estimate the parameter of the selected population. The estimand, G, is a random quantity which depends on both the data and the unknown parameters. While standard estimation

Anthropometric parameters of tooth selection

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1967
Abstract A study of many skulls was made to determine the ratios between the size of certain bony structures and the size of the anterior teeth. Several commonly used ratios were not verified, but relatively more consistency was found in others.
