Toward Design Principles for Biomolecular Condensates for Metabolic Pathways
Biomolecular condensates are membrane‐less compartments found through‐out nature which can serve as reaction crucibles for biochemical processes. This review explores the design strategies underlying how condensates can be used in biotechnology to enhance multistep enzyme cascades including enhancement by mass action and substrate channeling, and ...

Elasticity of Diametrically Compressed Microfabricated Woodpile Lattices
Modulus–porosity relationship is derived for woodpile lattices with struts under diametrical compression. The formula presented here that Young's modulus is proportional to the square of the volume fraction E˜ρ2$E \sim \left(\rho\right)^{2}$ is shown to be consistent with computations and laboratory experiments on 3D‐printed samples.

AbstractRather than eradicating the need for mathematics in architectural practice, computation has intensified it. As Fabian Scheurer and Hanno Stehling of designtoproduction explain, the uneven flow of a complex design from computer‐aided design (CAD) to computer‐aided engineering (CAE) and through to computer‐aided manufacturing (CAM) necessitates ...

Inversion of sediment parameters in the Biot parameter space
Proceedings of Meetings on Acoustics, 2004Long range sediment tomography technique [Potty et al., J. Acoust. Soc. Am. 108, 973–986 (2000)] using explosive sources has been developed and applied to data from the Primer and ASIAEX experiments. This inversion scheme estimates the compressional wave speed and attenuation matching the individual modal arrival times, i.e., inversion is carried out ...

In this chapter, we will consider the problem of estimating a location vector which is constrained to lie in a convex subset of \(\mathbb {R}^P\). Estimators that are constrained to a set should be constrasted to the shrinkage estimators discussed in Sect.
