A Modern Roman‐Inspired Concrete with Daytime Radiative Cooling Capacity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Coolcrete, inspired by ancient Roman concrete, is a new cementitious material with photonic properties enabling passive daytime radiative cooling. Made from quicklime and zeolites, it reduces cooling energy demand, lowers CO2 emissions, and may eliminate urban heat islands.

Stabilizing Stretchable Organic Transistors Through Small‐Molecule Additive Blending for Ultra‐Sensitive Pesticide Detection

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study introduces a small‐molecule additive to improve the stability of stretchable organic field‐effect transistor (OFET). Furthermore, stretchable OFET‐based pesticide sensors with extended‐gate electrodes are constructed. It achieves highly sensitive and precise detection of chlorpyrifos pesticide, reaching a detection limit as low as 0.032 ppb.

Hot‐Pressing Annealing‐Induced Light Utilization Enhancement and Crystallinity Optimization Enable High‐Performance Narrowband Ultraviolet Photodetectors for Real‐Time Ultraviolet Radiation Monitors

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
By utilizing a hot‐pressing (HP) annealing strategy, Cs3Cu2I5 films with larger grains vertically spanning the entire thickness are fabricated. Because HP annealing enhances light utilization and charge transport in Cs3Cu2I5/GaN heterojunction, the HP device achieves superior detection performance while maintaining narrowband photoresponse to UVA/UVB ...

Electronic‐Structure‐Guided Screening of Piperazine Derivatives: Achieving Efficient CO2 Capture with High Cyclic Capacity and Low Energy Consumption

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A density functional theory (DFT)‐based framework is proposed to predict CO2 capture performance of piperazine derivatives. 2,6‐dimethylpiperazine (26DMPZ) is identified as a promising candidate: CO2‐induced precipitation in water eliminates the need for organic solvents; the low‐solubility, unstable dicarbamate enhances CO2 capture efficiency and ...

Random coordinate descent: A simple alternative for optimizing parameterized quantum circuits

open access: yesPhysical Review Research
Variational quantum algorithms rely on the optimization of parameterized quantum circuits in noisy settings. The commonly used back-propagation procedure in classical machine learning is not directly applicable in this setting due to the collapse of ...

B‐splines image approximation using resampled chordal parameterization

open access: yesIET Image Processing
Image processing often requires filtering, which can be effectively performed by using B‐spline surface approximation. This article presents a fast method of approximating data in rectangular (image) form using such surfaces. The method considers dynamic
