Testing Equality of Several Distributions at High Dimensions: A Maximum-Mean-Discrepancy-Based Approach

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
With the development of modern data collection techniques, researchers often encounter high-dimensional data across various research fields. An important problem is to determine whether several groups of these high-dimensional data originate from the ...

Molecular dynamics simulations of positively selected codons in FcγRI reveal novel biochemical binding properties

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Simultaneous Inference of Gene Isoform Expression for RNA Sequencing Data

open access: yesRevstat Statistical Journal, 2020
In this article, we describe simultaneous inferential methods in detecting differentially expressed gene isoforms based on the Poisson generalized linear models. We derive the joint asymptotic distribution of pivotal quantities.

On Testing the Adequacy of the Inverse Gaussian Distribution

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
We propose a new class of goodness-of-fit tests for the inverse Gaussian distribution based on a characterization of the cumulative distribution function (CDF). The new tests are of weighted L2-type depending on a tuning parameter.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Analysis of maximum precipitation in Thailand using non‐stationary extreme value models

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, 2023
Non‐stationarity in heavy rainfall time series is often apparent in the form of trends because of long‐term climate changes. We have built non‐stationary (NS) models for annual maximum daily (AMP1) and 2‐day precipitation (AMP2) data observed between ...

Normal‐Appearing White Matter Injury Mediates Chronic Deep Venous Hypoxia and Disease Progression in Multiple Sclerosis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To explore how cerebral hypoxia and Normal‐Appearing White Matter (NAWM) integrity affect MS lesion burden and clinical course. Methods Seventy‐nine MS patients, including 13 clinically isolated syndrome (CIS) patients and 66 relapsing–remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS) patients, and 44 healthy controls (HCs) were recruited from ...

Risk of Non‐Arteritic Anterior Ischemic Optic Neuropathy in Idiopathic Intracranial Hypertension Patients Treated with GLP‐1 Receptor Agonists

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Glucagon‐like peptide‐1 receptor agonists (GLP‐1 RAs) have demonstrated significant weight‐reducing effects and may offer benefits in idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH); however, recent concerns about the risk of non‐arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy (NAION) have emerged.
