Parametrization of nonaxial deformations in rotational nuclei

Physical Review C, 1997
A parametrization is proposed for hexadecapole tensors, which observes symmetries coming from the O{sub h} group of transformations of the frame of reference defined through the quadrupole deformation and/or the rotation axes. A possible dependence of the hexadecapole deformation parameters on the quadrupole deformation is discussed.

Classification of Spinal Deformities Using a Parametric Torsion Estimator

2014
Adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) is a 3D deformity of the spine. However, the most widely accepted and used classification systems still rely on the 2D aspects of X-rays. Yet, a 3D classification of AIS remains elusive as there is no widely accepted 3D parameter in the clinical practice. The goal of this work is to propose a true 3D parameter that

A non‐parametric 2D deformable template classifier

Environmetrics, 2004
AbstractWe introduce an interactive segmentation method for a sea floor survey. The method is based on a deformable template classifier and is developed to segment data from an echo sounder post‐processor called RoxAnn.RoxAnn collects two different measures for each observation point, and in this 2D feature space the ship‐master will be able to ...

Deformations of CR manifolds, parametrizations of automorphisms, and applications

Mathematical Research Letters, 2015
We prove a parametrization theorem for maps of deformations of minimal, holomorphically nondegenerate real-analytic CR manifolds. This is used to deduce results on biholomorphic equivalence; we show that one can, for any germ of a minimal, holomorphically nondegenerate real-analytic CR manifold (M,p) construct a function which completely characterizes ...

Shape Parametrization Using Freeform Deformation

2006
Shape parametrization has been identified as an import issue in aerodynamic design optimisation based on high-fidelity CFD-methods. For given shapes, which are available as CAD-models, post-parameterization method, based on freeform deformation, has been established to simplify and to automate the generation of geometrical variants to be used for CFD ...

Parametric Curves in Liver Deformation for Laparoscopic Purposes

2010
An increasing number of conducted endoscopic procedures results in inventing new computer systems, that would be a helpful tool in this kind of medical examinations. In this paper the need of evaluating algorithms describing the deformation of internal organs for laparoscopic surgery purposes is presented.
