Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Operation of parametric modelling\u27 and/or “operation of architectural conception”?: Expressing relationships in parametric modelling [PDF]
This research paper presents a specific understanding of the relations between parametric modelling activities and architectural conception activities. Our main question is: Can we make a distinction between cognitive operations of parametric modelling ...

On an Integrated Framework for the Parametric Design and Optimization of Oil Tankers
Ship design is a particularly complex and time-consuming process, comprising a series of phases from concept to detail design. Ideally, the designer needs to deliver a design that complies with the operational and regulatory requirements, while at the ...

Protein aggregates threaten proteostasis and cell health. In human cells, Hsp70–J‐domain protein‐based disaggregases remove aggregates, but how they assemble remains unclear. Our biochemical findings show that DNAJA2‐ and DNAJB1‐containing disaggregase scaffolds enhance luciferase aggregate targeting, and that Hsp70 recruitment by both J‐domain ...

Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

A Model for the Analysis of Caries Occurrence in Primary Molar Tooth Surfaces [PDF]
Recently methods of caries quantification in the primary dentition have moved away from summary ‘whole mouth’ measures at the individual level to methods based on generalised linear modelling (GLM) approaches or survival analysis approaches. However, GLM
