Parametric array technique for microbubble excitation

IEEE Transactions on Ultrasonics, Ferroelectrics and Frequency Control, 2011
This study investigates the use of an acoustic parametric array as a means for microbubble excitation. The excitation wave is generated during propagation in a nonlinear medium of two high-frequency carrier waves, whereby the frequency of the excitation wave is the difference frequency of the carrier waves.

Preprocessing techniques for parametric loudspeakers

2008 International Conference on Audio, Language and Image Processing, 2008
Non-linear interaction of ultrasound waves can be applied to reproduce audible sound with parametric loudspeaker. This can be explained with the self- demodulation property of finite amplitude ultrasonic waves. A special characteristic of the reproduced sound waves using parametric loudspeaker is its high directivity.

A Parametrized Controller Reduction Technique

Proceedings of the 45th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2006
In this paper, the solution to controller reduction problem via a double-sided frequency weighted model reduction technique is considered. A new method with a new algorithm for finding low order controllers is proposed. This algorithm is based on new frequency weights derived using closed-loop system approximation criterion.

A parametric direction finding technique

ICASSP '87. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2005
The fundamental signal model for narrowband direction finding - the propagation of several sinusoidal planar wavefronts in a medium containing an array of sensors with additive Gaussian noise present - is assumed implicitly in most high resolution beamforming algorithms.

Simulation Techniques in Parametric Hamiltonians

Journal of Chemical Information and Computer Sciences, 1999
Using simulation techniques, a general definition of parametric Hamiltonians (Hpa), is presented. The minimal distance between a parametric and the exact Hamiltonian (Hexa) is defined in terms of the sum of the least distance between the corresponding energy functional components.

A parametric technique for time delay estimation

ICASSP '82. IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1984
Estimating the time-delay between two received signals is formulated as a parameter estimation problem for a certain spectral model. The model parameters are computed by a two step procedure: The modified Yule-Walker equations are used to estimate the autoregressive coefficients of the source signal, and a frequency domain squared error criterion is ...

Fiber-optic parametric amplifier and oscillator based on intracavity parametric pump technique

Optics Letters, 2009
A cost-effective fiber optical parametric amplifier (FOPA) based on the laser intracavity pump technique has been proposed and demonstrated experimentally. The parametric process is realized by inserting a 1 km highly nonlinear dispersion-shifted fiber (HNL-DSF) into a fiber ring-laser cavity that consists of a high-power erbium-doped fiber (EDF ...
