A comparison of parametric and non-parametric statistical tests
BMJ, 2015Researchers investigated the effectiveness of corticosteroids in reducing respiratory disorders in infants born at 34-36 weeks’ gestation. A randomised placebo controlled trial was performed. The intervention was treatment with betamethasone, 12 mg intramuscularly daily for two consecutive days at 34-36 weeks of pregnancy.

The fusion of parametric and non-parametric hypothesis tests

Proceedings of the, 2003This paper considers the hypothesis testing problem when two sets of data having significantly different types of prior information are fused. The probability density function of the data in the first set is assumed to be known to within a finite set of parameters so that aparometric test can be used to test the hypothesis.
