Quantifying Root Resorption on the Incisors After Clear Aligner and Fixed Appliance Therapy Using Artificial Intelligence Tool Based CBCT Surface Models: Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To quantify external apical root resorption (EARR) on the incisors following non‐extraction treatment of Class I malocclusion patients with moderate crowding, comparing clear aligners and fixed appliances using a novel 3D analysis of Cone‐Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) derived surface models.

Concordance Between the Occlusal Contacts Record Obtained Using an Intraoral Scanner and Carbon Paper

open access: yesOrthodontics &Craniofacial Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objectives To evaluate the reliability of the registration of occlusal contacts through intraoral scanning in comparison with those obtained with the aid of carbon paper. Materials and Methods The occlusal registration was obtained at the beginning of the orthodontic treatment of 35 patients (23 men and 12 women), aged 15 to 30 years.

Photobiomodulation and platelet‐rich fibrin in the gastrocnemius muscle submitted to calcaneal tendinopathy in rats

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
The study evaluated different treatments for calcaneal tendinopathy in rats, focusing on the gastrocnemius muscle. Photobiomodulation (PBM), advanced platelet‐rich fibrin (A‐PRF), and their combination were tested. Treated animals showed improved muscle strength between 7 and 21 days, but without significant recovery of muscle fibers.

Root surface biomodification in periodontal therapy: Biological rationale and clinical applications

open access: yesPeriodontology 2000, EarlyView.
Abstract Regenerative periodontal therapy aims to form new cementum, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone, all sealed by gingival tissue. The root surface acts as the wound margin during this regeneration process. Root surface biomodification (root conditioning/root decontamination), therefore, seems instrumental in promoting surface decontamination

Assessing functional diversity and composition using multispectral images in Atlantic Forest restoration sites

open access: yesRestoration Ecology, EarlyView.
Abstract Introduction By focusing on the specific functional traits of species, we can better understand how ecosystems function and respond to environmental change. However, field measurements of functional traits can be time‐consuming and costly, whereas remote sensing data can serve as viable alternatives for studying biodiversity at larger scales ...
