Molecular identification of Cryptosporidium isolates from captive snakes in Italy
Cryptosporidiosis is a parasitic disease responsible for gastroenteritis in reptiles. The main species affecting snakes are C. serpentis and C. varanii, although recent molecular studies have identified other species and genotypes.
