Quality Assessment of Marinated Halva Sya (Parastromateus niger) Fillets During Storage at 4 °C
Current Nutrition & Food Science, 2023Background: In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in using natural food additives to improve the shelf life of marinated food. Aim: This research aimed to examine physicochemical changes promoted by a marinating process in Halva Sya fish fillets during cold storage.

Abnormalities in the marine fishes are encountered around the world. The saddleback syndrome a deformity in the dorsal fin of the fish. They could be due to various environmental changes, predation and also could be due to anthropogenic activities like marine pollution induced due to heavy metal pollution etc.

Background: Parastromateus niger, is one of the important fish species from economic point of view in Gwadar, Balochistan-Pakistan. This study was carried out to determine the growth and fecundity of Parastromateus niger. Methods: Growth of P. niger was determined by applying Le Cren formula while mean fecundity and relative fecundity of this fish was

The complete mitochondrial genome of the Parastromateus niger (Perciformes, Carangidae)
Mitochondrial DNA Part A, 2014In this study, we have sequenced the complete mitochondrial genome of the Parastromateus niger. The mitochondrial genome is 16,561 bp long and contains 13 protein-coding genes, two rRNA genes, 22 tRNA genes and a control region. The gene order and composition of Parastromateus niger mitochondrial genome is similar to that of most other vertebrates. The

Summary The population dynamics of the black pomfret, Parastromateus niger, sampled from commercial gill-net catches from Kuwaiti waters of the Arabian Gulf, were investigated from October 2003 to September 2005. Length-based stock assessment using the FiSAT software package showed an asymptotic length of 65 cm TL and growth curvature of 0.34 year−1.

Abstract Successful conservation, management and aquaculture development of fishery stocks require life-history data, especially for fish that have commercial importance. The black pomfret, Parastromateus niger is one of the commercially important fish species in the Bay of Bengal (BoB) and reproductive biological data are scarce to date.
