The gastropod family Mitridae in the Miocene Paratethys Sea is revised. In total, 35 species in eight genera are reported. 75% of the species are so far known only from the Paratethys Sea. Biogeographic relations with the adjacent Proto-Mediterranean Sea are moderate and are mainly documented within Cancilla, but nearly absent in the other genera.

Interlaboratory fission track dating of volcanic ash levels from eastern Paratethys. A mediterranean-paratethys correlation

Abstract The age of glass shard levels, interlayered in Sarmatian deposits from the southwestern Russia are measured with the fission track method. The results obtained from different laboratories (Moscow, Pisa, Campinas) using their specific techniques are in good agreement so proving a good interlaboratory agreement.

Miocene Hydrobiidae (Gastropoda) of the Eastern Paratethys

A review of the family Hydrobiidae from the Tarkhanian and Chokrakian deposits was made. New genus Islamiella was described, in which the species I. miocenica sp. nov. (upper Tarkhanian–lower Chokrakian) and I. maeotica sp. nov. (lower Maeotian) were included.

Miocene Amathinidae (Gastropoda) of the Eastern Paratethys

Review was made for the Tarkhanian and Chokrakian representatives of the family Amathinidae. Two genera were defined—Leucotina and Carinorbis. The species L. ventosa (Bajarunas, 1910), L. belskayae (L. Iljina, 1993), L. costata sp. nov., L. excussa sp. nov., L. ovata sp. nov. and L. ovatoides sp. nov.
