Middle–Late Miocene Paleogeography of the Eastern Paratethys. Part VIII. Sea Level Fluctuations in the Middle–Late Miocene of the Eastern Paratethys

Stratigraphy and Geological Correlation
Abstract—: The history of sea level fluctuations in the Miocene basins of the Eastern Paratethys was determined by tectonics in the straits’ zone and by river discharge and hydrological balance. The available magnetostratigraphic records permitted dating transgressive and regressive episodes, and seismostratigraphic and drilling materials made it ...

The Dolicholatiridae and Fasciolariidae (Gastropoda, Buccinoidea) of the Miocene Paratethys Sea

Zootaxa
We describe one species of Dolicholatiridae and 30 species of Fasciolariidae from the Miocene of the Central Paratethys Sea. The first records of the family Dolicholatiridae and of the Fasciolariidae genus Takashius are documented from the Neogene of Europe, and we describe a first Miocene radiation of the extant Mediterranean Fusininae Pseudofusus ...

Les Bryozoaires néogènes de la Paratethys

1975
Time and space spreading of the Bryozoa in the area of the Paratethys Basin is considered. Their evolution during the Neogene was established, and the specific Character of this oriental type association was pointed out. As a corollary, a comparative study with the Neogene Bryozoa from the Western French area, was initiated.

Correlation between Paratethys-Mediterranean (NN-MNN)calcareous nannoplankton zonations.

Journal of nannoplankton research, 2008
In many cases standard Sarmatian i.e. Serravalian to Tortonian zonal calcareous nannoplankton species are absent or rare in sediments of Paratethys and Mediterranean region. The problem appears when the Paratethys calcareous nannofossils zonation (on assemblage, abundance and appearance on a certain species/genera level) tries to correlate with ...
