Molecular mechanism for transcriptional regulation of the parathyroid hormone gene by Epiprofin
The secretion of parathyroid hormone (PTH) from the chief cells in the parathyroid glands is regulated by the concentration of extracellular calcium. Epiprofin (Epfn) expression is induced by NFATc2 in response to elevated serum calcium, and Epfn negatively regulates PTH production.

The thera(g)nostic approach with somatostatin analog‐based agents extends beyond gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Understanding tumor biological mechanisms is essential for optimizing treatment strategies. Abstract First isolated by Brazeau et al. in 1972, somatostatin (SST) is a neuropeptide known for regulating various signaling pathways

Primary hyperparathyroidism in a domestic shorthair cat following I131 radioiodine therapy
A 12‐year‐old male neutered domestic shorthaired cat presented for further assessment of a cervical mass, having undergone radioiodine therapy for treatment of hyperthyroidism 2 years prior to presentation. Initial cytological diagnosis of the mass was supportive of a carcinoma and laboratory results were consistent with primary hyperparathyroidism ...
