Collision‐Resilient Winged Drones Enabled by Tensegrity Structures
Based on structures of birds such as the woodpeck, this article presents the collision‐resilient aerial robot, SWIFT. SWIFT leverages tensegrity structures in the fuselage and wings which allow it to undergo large deformations in a crash, without sustaining damage. Experiments show that SWIFT can reduce impact forces by 70% over conventional structures.

Modular, Textile‐Based Soft Robotic Grippers for Agricultural Produce Handling
This article introduces textile‐based pneumatic grippers that transform simple textiles into robust bending actuators. Detailed experiments uncover how cut geometry and fabric selection shape performance. Successful handling of fragile agricultural items showcases the potential of textile robotics for safe, scalable automation in food processing and ...

Pareto-optimal phylogenetic tree reconciliation [PDF]
Abstract Motivation: Phylogenetic tree reconciliation is a widely used method for reconstructing the evolutionary histories of gene families and species, hosts and parasites and other dependent pairs of entities. Reconciliation is typically performed using maximum parsimony, in which each evolutionary event type is assigned a cost and ...

Dynamics of the Mammalian Placental Metabolome in Placentogenesis and Embryonic Development
This study identifies three metabolic stages (E8.5, E9.5–10.5, E11.5–14.5) and two transition periods (E8.5–9.5, E10.5–11.5) in mouse placental development. NAD(H) emerges as a key dynamic metabolite that enhances embryonic growth through accelerated segmentation and increased proliferation of mouse embryonic stem cell (mESC)‐induced presomitic ...

ABSTRACTNorth star metrics and online experimentation play a central role in how technology companies improve their products. In many practical settings, however, evaluating experiments based on the north star metric directly can be difficult. The two most significant issues are (1) low sensitivity of the north star metric and (2) differences between ...

Achieving Pareto Optimality through Distributed Learning [PDF]
Abstract This chapter introduces a simple payoff-based learning rule that is completely decentralized and leads to an efficient configuration of actions in any n-person finite strategic-form game with generic payoffs. Agents respond solely to changes in their own realized payoffs, which are affected by the actions of other agents in the ...

A new class of biohybrid spheroids is engineered through the self‐assembly of adherent cells and extracellular matrix‐mimetic hydrogel microparticles (microgels). By mimicking a snowballing effect, this approach enables scalable formation of porous, millimeter‐scale spheroids with enhanced cell viability and molecular diffusion.

A Bottom‐Up Design Framework for Multifunctional Lattice Metamaterials
This study introduces a generative AI framework for designing multifunctional lattice metamaterials. The method combines 3D Gaussian voxel generation with deep learning, enabling greater design freedom and structural performance. The optimized lattice metamaterials achieve enhanced energy absorption by 40–200% compared to conventional structures and ...
