A pareto race

Naval Research Logistics, 1988
A dynamic and visual ``free-search'' type of interactive procedure for multi-objective linear programming is presented. The method enables a decision maker to freely search any part of the efficient frontier controlling the speed and direction of motion. The objective function values are represented in numeric form and as bar graphs on a display.

Pareto-improving inefficiency [PDF]

open access: possibleOxford Economic Papers, 2010
This paper considers a simple moral hazard setting in which a project owner (or, more generally, a principal) hires a contractor (or, more generally, an agent) to operate her project. We show that a systematic increase in the agent's operating costs can increase either the principal's profit or the agent's profit. The combined profit of the two parties

Local Pareto Approximation

AIP Conference Proceedings, 2008
In the design process of complex systems, the designer is solving an optimization problem, which involves different disciplines and where all design criteria have to be optimized simultaneously. Mathematically this problem can be reduced to a vector optimization problem.

QUADRATIC PARETO RACE [PDF]

open access: possible, 2000
This paper presents a dynamic and visual "free search" type of a decision support system - Quadratic Pareto Race, which enables a decision maker (DM) to freely search the efficient frontier of a multiple objective quadratic-linear programming problem by controlling the speed and direction of motion.

Pareto and Generalized Pareto Distributions

2008
More than one hundred years after its introduction, Pareto’s proposed model for fitting income distributions continues to be heavily used. A variety of generalizations of this model have been proposed including discrete versions, together with natural multivariate extensions.

Pareto processes

Journal of Applied Probability, 1988
An autoregressive process ARP(1) with Pareto-distributed inputs, analogous to those of Lawrance and Lewis (1977), (1980), is defined and its properties developed. It is shown that the stationary distributions are Pareto. Further, the maximum and minimum processes are asymptotically Weibull, and the ARP(1) process is shown to be closed under ...

Between Pareto efficiency and Pareto ε-efficiency

Optimization, 1989
By using an efficiency notion placed between Pareto efficiency and Pareto e-efficiency it is shown that semi Archimedian ordered vector spaces and regular ordered locally convex spaces can be characterized by existence results concerning efficient points of this type for lower bounded sets.
