Variable Control Charts Based on Percentiles of the New Weibull-Pareto Distribution

open access: yesPakistan Journal of Statistics and Operation Research, 2015
A variable quality characteristic is assumed to follow the new weibull-Pareto distribution. Based on the evaluated percentiles of sample statistic like mean, median, midrange, range and standard deviation, the control limits for the respective control charts are developed .

Raising the bar: Utilizing quality improvement tools to increase compliance with clinical care guidelines in inflammatory bowel disease patients

open access: yesJPGN Reports, EarlyView.
Abstract Patients admitted for inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) are often managed by rotating teams of care providers during their hospital stay. This can lead to potential variability in the care they receive. Our team developed a scoring system of six key high‐quality care components called the standardized IBD care index (SICI) to standardize care ...

Biosurfactant production by Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolated from mining waste: From genomic analysis to development of a polymeric composite for removal of hexavalent chromium

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Biosurfactant was produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa using andiroba waste from Amazonia. A biosurfactant–alginate composite (Alg/BioS) was successfully synthesized via ionotropic gelation, and achieved up to 70% Cr6+ removal from water. Abstract Environmental contamination by heavy metals represents a significant challenge due to their persistence in ...

Leveraging Life Cycle Assessment for Informing Packaging Eco‐Design and Eco‐Modulation

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eco‐modulation is designed to promote the adoption of eco‐design. However, in practice, its application is mostly concentrated on end‐of‐life (EoL) optimization. This study addresses the gap by proposing a framework to assess product–packaging systems as integrated units throughout the full life cycle.
