A Conditional Tail Expectation Type Risk Measure for Time Series
ABSTRACT We consider the estimation of the conditional expectation đŒ(Xh|X0>UX(1/p)), provided đŒ|X0|<â, at extreme levels, where (Xt)tââ€$$ {\left({X}_t\right)}_{t\in \mathbb{Z}} $$ is a strictly stationary time series, UX$$ {U}_X $$ its tail quantile function, h$$ h $$ is a positive integer and pâ(0,1)$$ p\in \left(0,1\right) $$ is such that pâ0$$ p\to ...

Aggregation and the Structure of Value
ABSTRACT Roughly, the view I call âAdditivismâ sums up value across time and people. Given some standard assumptions, I show that Additivism follows from two principles. The first says that how lives align in time cannot, in itself, matter. The second says, roughly, that a world cannot be better unless it is better within some period or another.

Summary Jasmonates (JAs)âmediated pathways are central signaling hubs in plant defense responses. However, the identification of mobile and nonmobile signals involved in downstream systemic signaling is still less studied. Here, we investigate the role of the jasmonic acidâisoleucine (JAâIle) conjugating enzyme, JAR1, in shifting woundâinduced local ...

Summary Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) emitted by soil bacteria influence interactions with other soil microbes and plants. While their potential as plant growth promoters is well recognized, their role in promoting plant resilience to abiotic stress and the underlying molecular mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Provenance legacies override species effects in shaping oak rhizosphere microbiomes and metabolomes
Graphical representation of experimental setup. Quercus spp. seeds were collected at two origins: upper Rhine basin (URB) and north German lowland (NGL). Summary As climate change drives more frequent droughtâheat extremes, selecting droughtâtolerant trees is crucial for future forest resilience. However, the role of treeâmicrobial associations remains

Abstract I survey recent research on subnational income tax policy, arguing that a defining feature is geography. Geographic boundaries limit the power of subnational governments to tax people and activities. The article discusses where income should be taxed and the effects of these tax rules on the interjurisdictional mobility of people and jobs.
