TRANSMUTED EXPONENTIAL PARETO DISTRIBUTION
Far East Journal of Theoretical Statistics, 2015Summary: A generalized version of the exponential Pareto distribution has been proposed in this study using the quadratic rank transmutation map. The new generalization is called the transmuted exponential Pareto distribution. A comprehensive description of the statistical properties of this new distribution along with its reliability function, hazard ...

A robust and efficient estimator for the tail index of inverse Pareto distribution
Physica A: Statistical Mechanics and its Applications, 2019Based on the probability integral transform statistic, Finkelstein et al. (2006) have proposed a robust estimator for the shape parameter of Pareto distribution.

Abstract We review several common discretization schemes and study a particular class of power-tail probability distributions on integers, obtained by discretizing continuous Pareto II (Lomax) distribution through one of them. Our results include expressions for the density and cumulative distribution functions, probability generating ...

On a new generalization of Pareto distribution and its applications
Communications in statistics. Simulation and computation, 2018Pareto distribution is one of the well known distributions used to fit heavy-tailed data. Various generalizations of this distribution have been reported in the literature by several authors.

Composite Exponential-Pareto distribution
AIP Conference Proceedings, 2021One of the few goals of statistical modeling is to see and analyze the probability of an event which can be represented with data. A probability distribution that is used for modeling data should have some abilities such as flexibility for modeling different kinds of data. Therefore, modeling data is of great importance.

Building on new insights into the genesis ofPareto-Distributions,(“Kopp” effect etc.) as publishedearlier in “Quality and Quantity”, the author gives at least oneauthentic/definitive Pareto-Formula. A practical example of the synthetic generation of Pareto Distributions by means of spreadsheets.

A characterization of the pareto distribution
Canadian Journal of Statistics, 1973AbstractSuppose that in a random sample of size n from a population with probability density function f(x), the order statistics are X(1) <x(2) <…<x(n). It is proved that a necessary and sufficient condition for f (x) to be a Pareto density function is that the statistics X(r) and X(s)/X(r) ≤ r < s ≤ n) are independent.

Pareto and Generalized Pareto Distributions
2008More than one hundred years after its introduction, Pareto’s proposed model for fitting income distributions continues to be heavily used. A variety of generalizations of this model have been proposed including discrete versions, together with natural multivariate extensions.
