Bio‐Friendly Artificial Muscles Based on Carbon Nanotube Yarns and Eutectogel Derivatives

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Solid‐state artificial muscles based on coiled commercial carbon nanotube yarns coated with eutectogel derivatives exhibit unipolar actuation through selective ion intercalation. Combining polyanionic and polycationic gels enables enhanced contractile stroke and high energy density.

The asymptotics of the generalised Bessel function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We demonstrate how the asymptotics for large |z| of the generalised Bessel function 0Ψ1(z) = X∞ n=0 z n Γ(an + b)n! , where a > −1 and b is any number (real or complex), may be obtained by exploiting the well-established asymptotic theory of the ...

GeAl2‐2xFe2xO3(OH)4 Nanotubes: New Electrocatalyst for Oxygen Evolution Reaction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe‐doped imogolite nanotubes are synthesized via a one‐step hydrothermal method with varying Fe substitution ratios x. Structural and spectroscopic analyses confirm homogeneous Fe incorporation while preserving tubular shape. Optimal doping at x = 0.05 enhances optical absorption, narrows band gap, reduces charge transfer resistance, and significantly ...

A generalisation of an expansion for the Riemann zeta function involving incomplete gamma functions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
We derive an expansion for the Riemann zeta function ζ(s) involving incomplete gamma functions with their second argument proportional to n2p, where n is the summation index and p is a positive integer.

A Scalable, Durable, Fire‐Safe All‐Day Passive Radiative Cooling Coating for Sustainable Buildings

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study reports a scalable, durable coating that combines a fire‑retardant copolymer adhesive, hollow glass microspheres, and boron oxide to achieve passive radiative cooling with over 94% solar reflectance and >95% mid‑infrared emissivity. The coating maintains performance after UV and rain exposure and exhibits UL‑94 V‑0 fire resistance, enabling ...

Electroactive Liquid Crystal Elastomers as Soft Actuators

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electroactive liquid crystal elastomers (eLCEs) can be actuated via electromechanical, electrochemical, or electrothermal effects. a) Electromechanical effects include Maxwell stress, electrostriction, and the electroclinic effect. b) Electrochemical effects arise from electrode redox reactions.
