Multicatalytic Access to Renewable Poly(Silyl Ether)s with Tunable Properties

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This work presents a one‐pot, multicatalytic approach that combines magnesium‐catalyzed esterification and borane‐mediated hydrosilylation for the synthesis of partially bio‐based poly(silyl ethers). This method allows for the tuning of thermal and mechanical properties, including exceptional extensibility (>3800%), and enables efficient chemical ...

Ethane Chlorination Toward Vinyl Chloride Synthesis: Mechanistic and Catalytic Perspectives

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Ethane chlorination is emerging as a promising low‐carbon route to vinyl chloride monomer, yet it remains academically underexplored due to the complexity of radical chemistry. As the first focused Minireview on this topic, it offers forward‐looking mechanistic analysis, unveils catalyst evolution pathways, and defines research priorities to accelerate

Low‐Temperature Reverse Water–Gas Shift Enabled by Magnetically Induced Catalysis

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Magnetically induced catalysis using standard Cu–Al spinel‐derived catalyst functionalized with carbon‐coated iron nanoparticles enables high CO yield (up to 62%) at mild catalyst and reactor temperatures (estimated at 300°C and determined as 25–123°C, respectively).

Redox‐Activated Probes Enable High‐Contrast Live Imaging of Native Postsynaptic Scaffolds

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, EarlyView.
Sylives are modified fluorescent peptides for high‐contrast live imaging of inhibitory (gephyrin) and excitatory (PSD‐95) postsynaptic scaffolds in native neurons. Clean labeling requires low nanomolar probe levels, whereas uptake needs micromolar cell‐penetrating peptide (CPP).

Electromembrane Extraction for Multiclass Pesticide Assessment in Soil Matrices: Sustainable Analytical Insights

open access: yesAnalysis &Sensing, EarlyView.
The U‐shaped electromembrane extraction with liquid chromatography‐mass spectrometry enables rapid multiclass pesticide screening in soil. The 15 min, low‐solvent workflow achieves high recoveries and robust linearity, while AGREEprep and GAPI assessments highlight a greener profile compared to literature reports, which represents a smart strategy for ...

Paris Agreement, Article 3

SSRN Electronic Journal, 2020
The introduction of “nationally determined contributions” into the Paris Agreement was a risky if necessary strategy. NDCs are risky in that they are a novel device which could well underdeliver the key climate goods of mitigation, adaptation, and finance; but they are necessary given that they were likely the only means to achieve buy-in from key ...

Negotiating the Paris Agreement

2021
The 2015 Paris Agreement represents the culmination of years of intense negotiations under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Designed to curb climate change, it was negotiated by almost 200 countries who came to the table with different backgrounds, perceptions and interests.
