The thermodynamic properties of bastnäsite-(Ce) and parisite-(Ce)

Chemical Geology, 2015
Abstract The rare earth elements (REE) are critical metals that play a major role in emerging high technology and green industries. The light (L)REE occur dominantly in fluorocarbonate minerals and consequently information on the stability of these minerals is essential for a better understanding of the genesis of REE deposits and for the efficient ...

Determination of six new polytypes in parisite-(Ce) by means of high resolution electron microscopy

Mineralogical Magazine, 2001
AbstractThe ultrastructures of parisite-(Ce) from a rare-earth mineral deposit of Sichuan Province, southwest China, have been observed and investigated by selected area electron diffraction (SAED) and high resolution electron microscopy (HREM). Six new polytypes 4H, 10H, 16H, 18R, 24R and 30R were determined in parisite-(Ce), as were their crystal ...

MICROSTRUCTURAL INVESTIGATION OF NEW POLYTYPES OF PARISITE-(Ce) BY HIGH-RESOLUTION TRANSMISSION ELECTRON MICROSCOPY

The Canadian Mineralogist, 2001
Five new polytypes of parisite-(Ce) [CaCe2(CO3)(3)F-2] from a rare-carth-mineral deposit within an aegirine-bearing granite pluton in Sichuan Province, southwestern China, were found by HRTEM: 6R(2), 8H, 14H, 36R and 42R. These new polytypes are all long-period ordered stacking structures, which may result from the distribution and the periodic ...

The crystal structure of parisite-(Ce), Ce 2 CaF 2 (CO 3 ) 3

American Mineralogist, 2000
The crystal structure of parisite–(Ce) was solved and refined to R = 0.044, Rw = 0.037 using three–dimensional X–ray diffraction data (XRD). In contrast to the putative hexagonal cell, weak XRD maxima on precession films demonstrate that the parisite–(Ce) is monoclinic with a space group C 2/ c or Cc .
