Substitution of Ti by Nb in Maraging Steel: Effects on Strengthening Mechanisms and Crystallographic Behavior

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that replacing Ti with Nb in maraging steel forms nanoscale Nb–Mo particles along boundaries, strengthening the alloy without relying on Ti phases. Heat‐treatment tuning promotes uniform crystal orientation and balanced grain boundaries, enabling strong yet ductile behavior.

ABSTRACT Uncertainty surrounding tax, expenditure and debt policy exerts an impact on the real economy. Motivated by this, our study investigates the effects of fiscal policy uncertainty (FPU) on macroeconomic and fiscal aggregates in Korea. Using a recently developed Korea FPU index, we show that while shocks to FPU lead to an increase in government ...

A construction of the high-rate regular quasi-cyclic LDPC codes

open access: yesEURASIP Journal on Wireless Communications and Networking, 2019
In this paper, a scheme to construct the high-rate regular quasi-cyclic low-density parity-check (QC-LDPC) codes is developed based on the finite geometry low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes.

Food, Affluence and the Consumption Basket*

open access: yesEconomic Papers: A journal of applied economics and policy, EarlyView.
There are significant disparities across nations in incomes and spending. We use data from the International Comparison Program for 176 countries to estimate cross‐country demand equations focusing on food and ...

Food without fire: Environmental and nutritional impacts from a solar stove field experiment

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Agricultural Economics, EarlyView.
Abstract Over 80% of the population in rural Sub‐Saharan Africa relies on biomass cooking fuel, a substantial source of anthropogenic greenhouse gases. We use a field experiment in Zambia to investigate the impact of solar stoves on biomass fuel use and cooking habits.
