Parity current and parity representation

Il Nuovo Cimento A, 1976
We introduce the concept of parity current and relate its derived « charge » to an explicit representation of the parity transformation (in terms of field variables) in an analogous way that the « charge » of a current arising from a continuous transformation of the fields is related to an explicit representation of a continuous transformation.

Parity codes

RAIRO - Theoretical Informatics and Applications, 2005
In the paper even codes are defined as prefix codes being able to detect the occurrence of an odd number of 1-bit errors in the message. Particularly, an \textit{even code} is a code in which all encodings are even. After the definition a method for finding optimal even codes is described, and then their characterization as well as comparison with ...

Fight for parity

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1976
The issues facing dentistry today are numerous. So are the num ber of opinions on any given issue. In this section of t h e j o u r n a l we encourage responsible and well-written expression of opinion. Articles are chosen on a com petitive basis. As in other parts of t h e j o u r n a l , opinions expressed or implied are strictly those of the authors

On the Parity of a Permutation

The American Mathematical Monthly, 2011
AbstractThis note gives a simplification of Mac Lane's proof that the map which assigns to each permutation in the symmetric group Sn the value 1 or −1 according as the number of its inversions is even or odd is a homomorphism.

On threshold circuits for parity

Proceedings [1990] 31st Annual Symposium on Foundations of Computer Science, 1990
Motivated by, the problem of understanding the limitations of neural networks for representing Boolean functions, the authors consider size-depth tradeoffs for threshold circuits that compute the parity function. They give an almost optimal lower bound on the number of edges of any depth-2 threshold circuit that computes the parity function with ...

Are Risk-Parity Managers at Risk Parity?

The Journal of Portfolio Management, 2013
Risk parity has become an accepted investment strategy, to some degree. Its main advantage is its use of risk allocation, as opposed to the capital allocation used by the traditional asset allocation approach. A balanced risk allocation provides true diversification; therefore risk parity should deliver better risk-adjusted return over time.

Religious Parity versus Gender Parity

2017
This chapter focuses on another consequence that emerges when parties' primary concern is to maximize votes: balancing religious parity with gender parity. A salient concern, voiced across the political spectrum, is that multicultural inclusion empowers conservative male community leaders at the expense of women.
