Aqueous and Non‐Aqueous Synthesis of 2‐(Dimethylamino)ethyl Methacrylate (Co)Polymers by Solution Radical Polymerization: Modeling and Experimental Study

open access: yesMacromolecular Reaction Engineering, EarlyView.
The radical polymerization kinetics of DMAEMA is studied in both aqueous and nonaqueous solution. Solvolysis of the nonionized monomer occurs in aqueous and aqueous‐alcohol systems, leading to the formation of copolymer or terpolymer; this complexity does not arise when DMAEMA is in its ionized form.

Greater intrinsic motivation for engaging in healthy lifestyle behaviors is associated with reduced postpartum weight

open access: yesObesity, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Lifestyle behaviors impact postpartum weight, yet intrinsic motivation for them—i.e., what individuals enjoy, value, and do with ease—is poorly understood. The Pregnancy, Lifestyle and Environment Study‐2 (PETALS‐2) examined whether intrinsic motivations for engaging in healthy eating, physical activity, and weight self‐monitoring ...

Unearthing the impact of earthquakes: A review of economic and social consequences

open access: yesJournal of Policy Analysis and Management, EarlyView.
Abstract The purpose of this paper is to offer a comprehensive overview of the socioeconomic effects of earthquakes. We begin with a thorough literature review. Following this, we assess policy measures taken in response to major earthquakes, drawing on existing research to formulate insights and recommendations that policymakers can use to effectively
