Development and adoption of Kernza—A perennial grain crop for sustainable agriculture

open access: yesPLANTS, PEOPLE, PLANET, EarlyView.
Annual cereal grains account for ~50% of human food calories, but cultivation of these crops has resulted in major environmental and social issues worldwide. For nearly three decades, researchers have been breeding intermediate wheatgrass—a perennial cool‐season grass—to serve as the world's first commercial‐scale perennial grain crop to improve ...

Physical Realization of the Parity Anomaly in Condensed Matter Physics

Physical Review Letters, 1986
We show that a PbTe-type narrow-gap semiconductor with an antiphase boundary (or domain wall) has currents of abnormal parity and induced fractional charges. A model is introduced which reduces the problem to the physics of a Dirac equation with a soliton in background electric and magnetic fields.

Parity and chivalry in nuclear physics

Nature, 1997
Forty years ago, the world of physics was stunned by the discovery that nuclear beta-decay does not respect symmetry between left and right. But the credit for this conclusion has not been properly attributed.
