Maximum information photoelectron metrology
Photoelectron interferograms, manifested in photoelectron angular distributions (PADs), are a high-information, coherent observable. In order to obtain the maximum information from angle-resolved photoionization experiments it is desirable to record the ...

Abstract The relatively short‐term effects of ridge subduction may be evaluated in the Peruvian region of the recent (4 and 5 Ma) arrival of the Nazca Ridge at the subduction interface. Such effects are superposed onto—and are mostly discernible from—those of a long‐term, Cretaceous to Miocene tectonic evolution.

The need for the wider adoption of next‐generation energy storage systems due to the usage of renewable energy encourages the development of alternatives to the lithium‐ion battery (LIB) technology. Rechargeable zinc–air battery (RZAB) could meet this objective as affordable, safe, and material abundant alternative if suitable non‐Pt group metal (PGM ...

Fluid leadership in a multi-user virtual environment educational project with teenagers: Schome Park [PDF]
This paper examines leadership practices in a virtual community, the Schome Park project. Schome Park, based at the Open University, UK, was the first European closed (i.e. protected) island in Teen Second Life, a multi-user 3D virtual environment.

Imaging Magma Reservoirs From Space With Altimetry‐Derived Gravity Data
Abstract I investigate the detectability of magma reservoirs in the vertical gravity gradient (VGG) anomalies calculated from satellite altimetry data. First, I calculate a suite of synthetic seamount models to show the expected VGG anomaly characteristic wavelength and amplitude for a simplified magmatic system, hydrothermal system, and a caldera ...

Group versus individual approach? A meta-analysis of the effectiveness of interventions to promote physical activity [PDF]
The purpose of the study was to conduct a meta-analysis to empirically compare the relative merits of different contexts typically employed in the physical activity intervention literature for five categories of outcomes: adherence, social interaction ...

Non-linear model error and resolution properties from two-dimensional single and joint inversions of direct current resistivity and radiomagnetotelluric data [PDF]
For the first time, a comparative analysis of the resolution and variance properties of 2-D models of electrical resistivity derived from single and joint inversions of dc resistivity (DCR) and radiomagnetotelluric (RMT) measurements is presented.

Oceanic lithosphere and asthenosphere: The thermal and mechanical structure [PDF]
A coupled thermal and mechanical solid state model of the oceanic lithosphere and asthenosphere is presented. The model includes vertical conduction of heat with a temperature dependent thermal conductivity, horizontal and vertical advection of heat ...

Three-dimensional modelling and inversion of controlled source electromagnetic data
The marine Controlled Source Electromagnetic (CSEM) method is an important and almost self-contained discipline in the toolkit of methods used by geophysicists for probing the earth. It has increasingly attracted attention from industry during the past
