Outpatient parotidectomy

The American Journal of Surgery, 1991
Encouraged by the success of outpatient thyroid surgery, we have performed outpatient parotidectomy in more than 56 selected patients during the past 5 years. As a result of the success of the procedure and the enthusiastic patient response, the proportion of parotid operations performed on an inpatient basis has declined in the latter part of the ...

Parotidectomy—Anatomical considerations

Clinical Anatomy, 2011
AbstractThe parotid glands are paired major salivary glands and are located in the preauricular region. Parotidectomy is a surgical procedure that entails removal of all or a portion of the parotid gland. The most common indications for this operative procedure are a neoplasm of the parotid gland or metastases to parotid lymph nodes.

Traumatic Partial Parotidectomy

The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1984
A 16-year-old boy was assaulted with a broken bottle, which inflicted a deep right-sided cervicofacial injury. Exploration, however, revealed a split parotid gland along its plane of cleavage preserving the facial nerve and major cervical blood vessels with a unique traumatic dissection simulating surgical suprafacial parotidectomy.
