Left Atrial Appendage Aneurysm with Paroxysmal Atrial Fibrillation

open access: yesThe Heart Surgery Forum, 2012
Aneurysm of the left atrial appendage is extremely rare, and afflicted patients most commonly present with atrial tachyarrhythmia or thromboembolism. For these patients, resection of the aneurysm is the recommended and preferred therapy. We present the case of a 57-year-old woman who was found incidentally to have a large aneurysm of the left atrial ...

Deciphering pro‐arrhythmogenic mechanisms of EPAC in human atrial cardiomyocytes

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend This study aimed to investigate the effect of exchange proteins directly activated by cAMP (EPAC) on the regulation of human atrial cardiomyocyte electrophysiology and their potential involvement in the onset of atrial fibrillation (AF).

Dynamic Risk Assessment for the Development of Persistent Atrial Fibrillation Using Statistical and Machine Learning Approaches

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
Machine learning using 6‐month rolling AF burden from cardiac implantable devices accurately predicts 1‐year progression to persistent atrial fibrillation. Higher AF intensity and frequency strongly identify high‐risk patients, enabling dynamic, point‐in‐time risk stratification to support earlier, targeted clinical intervention.

ADJUSTMENT OF PHARMACOLOGICAL ANTIARRHYTHMIC THERAPY IN PATIENTS WITH PAROXYSMAL ATRIAL FIBRILLATION DURING SERIAL TESTING OF ANTIARRHYTHMIC DRUGS WITH TRANSESOPHAGEAL ELECTROPHYSIOLOGICAL STUDIES

open access: yesРоссийский кардиологический журнал, 2003
The work has studied opportunities for ТЕ EPS in serial testing of antiarrhythmic drugs testing to prevent recurrent arrhythmia in patients with atrial fibrillation.

Changes in C-reactive protein levels when choosing different treatment strategies for atrial fibrillation

open access: yesКлинический разбор в общей медицине
Background. In recent years, the issue of the occurrence of immune remodeling, including the immune cell activation and changes in cytokine secretion, is a subject of considerable debate.

Agreement of the performance of equine electrocardiogram recording devices for ECG complexity analysis

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, Volume 58, Issue 5, Page 1336-1344, September 2026.
Abstract Background Non‐linear equine electrocardiography (ECG) analysis is an actively developing study area which has the potential to lead to novel, artificial intelligence‐based diagnostic tools in equine cardiology. As more ECG recording devices are becoming available, there is a need to ensure results are interchangeable regardless of the ...

Useful clinical features for the selection of ideal patients with strial fibrillation for mapping and catheter ablation

open access: yesArquivos Brasileiros de Cardiologia, 2002
OBJECTIVE: To identify useful clinical characteristics for selecting patients eligible for mapping and ablation of atrial fibrillation. METHODS: We studied 9 patients with atrial fibrillation, without structural heart disease, associated with: 1 ...

Evidence‐Based Nursing Management During Mavacamten Therapy in an 89‐Year‐Old Patient With Symptomatic Hypertrophic Obstructive Cardiomyopathy: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT In older patients receiving mavacamten, a reduction in NT‐proBNP levels may coexist with persistent severe LVOTO. Nurses should interpret this biomarker–echocardiography discordance as a safety signal and maintain structured cardiovascular surveillance rather than assuming treatment success based solely on biomarker improvement.

Incidental Colonic Pneumatosis Intestinalis With Pneumoperitoneum Managed Conservatively

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Pneumoperitoneum accompanying pneumatosis intestinalis can mimic intestinal perforation but does not always require surgery. In asymptomatic, hemodynamically stable patients without high‐risk CT features, conservative management with careful observation and medication review may help avoid unnecessary laparotomy.
