Characterization of health care utilization in patients receiving implantable cardioverter-defibrillator therapies: An analysis of the managed ventricular pacing trial. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
BACKGROUND: Implantable cardioverter-defibrillators (ICDs) are effective in terminating lethal arrhythmias, but little is known about the degree of health care utilization (HCU) after ICD therapies.

Perspectives on Clinical Biomarkers Based on the Pathophysiology of Arrhythmias

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
Overview of atrial fibrillation and biomarkers. Biomarkers for atrial fibrillation can be broadly divided into factors causing atrial fibrillation and factors resulting from atrial fibrillation. Nucleic acids and extracellular vesicles released into the extracellular space mediate communication between cells and tissues and are deeply involved in the ...

Exploring the Therapeutic Potential of Antidiabetic Drugs in Cardiac Arrhythmia Management: A Drug Target Mendelian Randomization Study

open access: yesJournal of Arrhythmia, Volume 41, Issue 6, December 2025.
Mendelian randomization analyses suggest that genetic proxies for antidiabetic drug targets—KCNJ11/ABCC8, SLC5A2, and RXRB—reduce the risk of paroxysmal tachycardia (PT), right bundle branch block (RBBB), and atrial fibrillation (AF), respectively.

Evaluating the Impact of Catheter Ablation on Cardiovascular and Cerebral Outcomes in Atrial Fibrillation With Heart Failure and Preserved Ejection Fraction

open access: yesClinical Cardiology, Volume 48, Issue 11, November 2025.
This study summarizes the 5‐year outcomes of catheter ablation in patients with atrial fibrillation and HFpEF. Compared to medical therapy alone, ablation was associated with reduced all‐cause mortality, ischemic stroke, and heart failure exacerbation, based on matched cohort analysis from a global real‐world database.

Automatic Mode Switching in Atrial Fibrillation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Automatic mode switching (AMS) algorithms were designed to prevent tracking of atrial tachyarrhythmias (ATA) or other rapidly occurring signals sensed by atrial channels, thereby reducing the adverse hemodynamic and symptomatic consequences of a rapid ...

A Case of Junctional Ectopic Tachycardia and Complete Atrioventricular Block After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement

open access: yesAnnals of Noninvasive Electrocardiology, Volume 30, Issue 6, November 2025.
This case highlights junctional ectopic tachycardia (JET) and complete atrioventricular (AV) block after transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR). JET after TAVR may be associated with AV block, potentially requiring rate control with medication and pacemaker implantation.

Permanent junctional reciprocating tachycardia in a patient with an atypically located accessory pathway in the left lateral mitral annulus

open access: yesRevista Portuguesa de Cardiologia, 2016
Permanent junctional reciprocating tachycardia (PJRT) is an uncommon form of atrioventricular reentrant tachycardia due to an accessory pathway characterized by slow and decremental retrograde conduction.

Early Higher Plasma Regorafenib Concentration Predicts Shorter PFS in Japanese Patients With mCRC

open access: yesClinical and Translational Science, Volume 18, Issue 11, November 2025.
ABSTRACT The pharmacokinetics of regorafenib and its active metabolites, M2 and M5, vary widely among individual patients. However, the relationship between these plasma concentrations and therapeutic efficacy remains unclear. Patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC) receiving regorafenib as third‐line or later treatment were enrolled.

Conversion of supraventricular arrhythmias to sinus rhythm using flecainide [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We evaluated the efficacy of flecainide acetate (given intravenously to a maximal dose of2 mg kg−1 and then orally in a dose of 100 mg b.d. or 100 mg t.d.s.) in the conversion to sinus rhythm of 50 patients exhibiting supraventricular arrhythmias (39 ...

AVNRT complicated by Valsalva-exacerbated radial pulsation artifacts mimicking acute ischemia: a case report

open access: yesFrontiers in Cardiovascular Medicine
Atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardia (AVNRT), the most common supraventricular tachycardia, occasionally present with transient ST-T changes mimicking ischemia, posing diagnostic challenges for patients.
