Head-Driven Statistical Models for Natural Language Parsing

open access: yesInternational Conference on Computational Logic, 2003
This article describes three statistical models for natural language parsing. The models extend methods from probabilistic context-free grammars to lexicalized grammars, leading to approaches in which a parse tree is represented as the sequence of ...

To parse or not to parse [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 13th conference on Computational linguistics -, 1990
We have designed and implemented a text processing system that can extract important information from hundreds of paragraphs per hour and can be transported within weeks to a new domain. The system performs efficiently because it determines the level of processing required to understand a text. This "skimming" method identifies surface relations in the

On the Complexity of CCG Parsing [PDF]

open access: yesComputational Linguistics, 2018
We study the parsing complexity of Combinatory Categorial Grammar (CCG) in the formalism of Vijay-Shanker and Weir ( 1994 ). As our main result, we prove that any parsing algorithm for this formalism will take in the worst case exponential time when the size of the grammar, and not only the length of the input sentence, is included in the analysis ...

Correlating Edge with Parsing for Human Parsing

open access: yesElectronics, 2023
Human parsing has great application prospects in the field of computer vision, but there are still many problems. In the existing algorithms, the problems of small-scale target location and the problem of background occlusion have not been fully resolved, which will lead to wrong segmentation or incomplete segmentation.

Globotriaosylceramide Gb3 Influences Wound Healing and Scar Formation by Orchestrating Fibroblast Heterogeneity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In superficial second‐degree burn wounds, Gb3 turns on genes related to papillary cells through the FGF2 signaling pathway. This increases the ability of cells to break down fibrin and decreases fibrosis, which ultimately prevents scar formation in burn injuries.

Rationally Design Thermoelectric Materials Based on Ingenious Machine Learning Methods

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A machine learning framework is developed to accurately predict thermoelectric performance of materials. By combining high‐quality data, advanced feature engineering, and machine learning, the model identifies promising candidates like CsCdBr3 and TlBSe3.

Tokenizing, POS Tagging, Lemmatizing and Parsing UD 2.0 with UDPipe

open access: yesConference on Computational Natural Language Learning, 2017
Many natural language processing tasks, including the most advanced ones, routinely start by several basic processing steps – tokenization and segmentation, most likely also POS tagging and lemmatization, and commonly parsing as well.

End-to-End Wireframe Parsing [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE International Conference on Computer Vision, 2019
We present a conceptually simple yet effective algorithm to detect wireframes in a given image. Compared to the previous methods which first predict an intermediate heat map and then extract straight lines with heuristic algorithms, our method is end-to ...

opXRD: Open Experimental Powder X‐Ray Diffraction Database

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Discovery, EarlyView.
We introduce the Open Experimental Powder X‐ray Diffraction Database, the largest openly accessible collection of experimental powder diffractograms, comprising over 92,000 patterns collected across diverse material classes and experimental setups. Our ongoing effort aims to guide machine learning research toward fully automated analysis of pXRD data ...

Devil in the Details: Towards Accurate Single and Multiple Human Parsing [PDF]

open access: yesAAAI Conference on Artificial Intelligence, 2018
Human parsing has received considerable interest due to its wide application potentials. Nevertheless, it is still unclear how to develop an accurate human parsing system in an efficient and elegant way.
