An Empirical Study on the Effects of Jayvee, a Domain‐Specific Language for Data Engineering, on Understanding Data Pipeline Architectures

open access: yesSoftware: Practice and Experience, Volume 55, Issue 6, Page 1086-1105, June 2025.
ABSTRACT A large part of data science projects is spent on data engineering. Especially in open data contexts, data quality issues are prevalent and are often tackled by non‐professional programmers. We introduce and evaluate Jayvee, a domain‐specific language for data engineering aimed at reducing barriers to building data pipelines.

Lexical Effects on Second Language Grammar Acquisition: Testing Psycholinguistic and Neurocognitive Predictions

open access: yesLanguage Learning, Volume 75, Issue 2, Page 424-457, June 2025.
Abstract Second language (L2) grammar learning is difficult. Two frameworks—the psycholinguistic lexical bottleneck hypothesis and the neurocognitive declarative/procedural model—predict that faster L2 lexical processing should facilitate L2 incidental grammar learning.

Incremental Interpretation: Applications, Theory, and Relationship to Dynamic Semantics

open access: yes, 1994
Why should computers interpret language incrementally? In recent years psycholinguistic evidence for incremental interpretation has become more and more compelling, suggesting that humans perform semantic interpretation before constituent boundaries ...
