PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Full body aero-tactile integration in speech perception

open access: yes, 2010
We follow up on our research demonstrating that aero-tactile information can enhance or interfere with accurate auditory perception, even among uninformed and untrained perceivers [1].

PECULIARITIES OF THE SPEECH PART OF SPEECH IN PRESCHOOL CHILDREN WITH GENERAL SPEECH UNDERFORMANCE

open access: yesRussian Journal of Education and Psychology, 2019
In this article are discusses the features of the syllabic side of speech in children who has general underdevelopment. The directions of speech therapy work on the formation of the syllabic structure of the word are characterized.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Using DEDICOM for completely unsupervised part-of-speech tagging. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
A standard and widespread approach to part-of-speech tagging is based on Hidden Markov Models (HMMs). An alternative approach, pioneered by Schuetze (1993), induces parts of speech from scratch using singular value decomposition (SVD).

Detection Of Sentence Modality On French Automatic Speech-to-text Transcriptions

open access: yesAl-Lisaniyyat, 2016
This article analyzes the detection of sentence modality in French when it is applied on automatic speech-to-text transcriptions. Two sentence modalities are evaluated (questions and statements) using prosodic and linguistic information.

Proteasomal degradation of intracellularly expressed Amblyomin‐X limits suicide gene therapy potential in melanoma cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Rapid screening of staphylokinase protein variants using an unpurified cell‐free expression system

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
An unpurified cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS) platform enables rapid functional screening of staphylokinase variants. Direct plasminogen‐activation assays performed in microplate format provide real‐time activity readouts, allowing rapid identification and ranking of variants with improved or reduced fibrinolytic activity without protein ...
