Higgs and Coulomb branches from vertex operator algebras

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2019
We formulate a conjectural relation between the category of line defects in topologically twisted 3d N $$ \mathcal{N} $$ = 4 supersymmetric quantum field theories and categories of modules for Vertex Operator Algebras of boundary local operators for the ...

Capacitive versus Faradaic Microelectrodes for Extracellular Stimulation: A Fully Coupled FEM–Hodgkin–Huxley Study of Thresholds and Current Redistribution

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A fully coupled FEM–HH model shows that ideally capacitive microelectrodes can achieve lower charge‐density thresholds than Faradaic contacts under current‐controlled stimulation. The advantage stems from the dynamics of surface current density on capacitive interfaces, which redirects current beneath adherent neurons.

The Freiheitssatz for Novikov algebras

open access: yes, 2011
We prove the Freiheitssatz for Novikov algebras in characteristic zero. It is also proved that the variety of Novikov algebras is generated by a Novikov algebra on the space of polynomials $k[x]$ in a single variable $x$ over a field $k$ with respect to ...

Mapping the Innovation DNA of Agribusiness Firms: A Multi‐Method Analysis of Strategic Capabilities and Performance

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innovation is essential for competitiveness in agribusiness facing dynamic environments. This study examines how market orientation, marketing, relational, and social capabilities influence innovation performance. Using data from 751 Spanish firms and a multi‐method approach that integrates Structural Equation Modeling (PLS‐SEM), Necessary ...

An asymptotic expansion of the solution of a semi-linear partial differential equation implied by a nonlinear Feynman–Kac formula

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics for Industry
This paper introduces an asymptotic expansion for the smooth solution of a semi-linear partial differential equation. Our scheme is based on Itô’s formula, Taylor’s expansion, nonlinear Feynman–Kac formula and some algebras.

Monoids, their boundaries, fractals and C*-algebras

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2020
In this note we establish some connections between the theory of self-similar fractals in the sense of John E. Hutchinson (cf. [3]), and the theory of boundary quotients of C*-algebras associated to monoids.

Transient modeling of extraction columns: Parameter estimation, uncertainty analysis, and operation optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite extensive modeling efforts in extraction research, transient column models are rarely applied in industry due to concerns regarding parameter identifiability and model reliability. To address this, we analyzed uncertainty propagation from estimated parameters in a previously introduced column model and assessed identifiability via ill ...

Partial Constant Hesitant Fuzzy Sets on UP-Algebras

open access: yesJournal of New Theory, 2018
In this paper, partial constant hesitant fuzzy sets on UP-algebras are introduced and proved some results. Further, we discuss the relation between partial constant hesitant fuzzy sets and UP-subalgebras (resp.

Compositions of invertibility preserving maps for some monoids and their application to Clifford algebras

open access: yes, 2018
For some monoids, we give a method of composing invertibility preserving maps associated to "partial involutions." Also, we define the notion of "determinants for finite dimensional algebras over a field." As examples, we give invertibility preserving ...

Trust‐region filter algorithms utilizing Hessian information for gray‐box optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Optimizing industrial processes often involves gray‐box models that couple algebraic glass‐box equations with black‐box components lacking analytic derivatives. Such systems challenge derivative‐based solvers. The classical trust‐region filter (TRF) algorithm provides a robust framework but requires extensive parameter tuning and numerous ...
