Hypercellular graphs: partial cubes without $Q_3^-$ as partial cube minor

open access: yes, 2016
We investigate the structure of isometric subgraphs of hypercubes (i.e., partial cubes) which do not contain finite convex subgraphs contractible to the 3-cube minus one vertex $Q^-_3$ (here contraction means contracting the edges corresponding to the same coordinate of the hypercube).

Cubic Partial Cubes from Simplicial Arrangements [PDF]

open access: yesThe Electronic Journal of Combinatorics, 2006
We show how to construct a cubic partial cube from any simplicial arrangement of lines or pseudolines in the projective plane. As a consequence, we find nine new infinite families of cubic partial cubes as well as many sporadic examples.

Development of a cypovirus protein microcrystal-encapsulated Bacillus thuringiensis UV-tolerant and mosquitocidal δ-endotoxin

open access: yesBiology Open, 2022
The δ-endotoxin Cry4Aa from Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis (Bti) has insecticidal characteristics specific to insects of the order Diptera. Although Cry4Aa has shown potential as an effective proteinaceous pesticide against mosquitoes, it has an ...

Formulation of Heat-Induced Whey Protein Gels for Extrusion-Based 3D Printing

open access: yesFoods, 2020
This study investigated the extrusion-based 3D printability of heat-induced whey protein gels as protein rich food inks. In particular, the effects of ionic strength by the addition of NaCl (0–250 mM), protein content (10%, 15%, 20%), fat content (0%, 10%

Predicting Mechanical Properties of High Performance Concrete by Using Non-destructive Tests [PDF]

open access: yesEngineering and Technology Journal, 2009
In this study, high performance concrete mixes were produced by using highrange water reducing agent and also by using 10% silica fume or 10% highreactivity metakaolin as a partial replacement by weight of cement. Three cementcontents (350, 450, and 550)

Effect of Partial Replacement of Fine Aggregate by Polyethylene Terephthalate on the Characteristics of Mortar [PDF]

open access: yesJES: Journal of Engineering Sciences
In this study, polyethylene terephthalate (PET) granules were used as a partial replacement for sand in mortar applications as a sustainable alternative material after recycling plastic waste to compensate for the expected shortage of natural aggregates ...

Axiomatic characterization of the interval function of partial cubes and partial Hamming graphs

open access: yesAKCE International Journal of Graphs and Combinatorics
Interval function of a graph is a well-known notion in metric graph theory and the axiomatic characterization using a set of first order axioms of different graph classes is an interesting problem in this area.

Calcium Lactate addition in Bioconcrete: Effect on Compressive strength and Water penetration

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
This paper presents compressive strength and water penetration of bioconcrete with addition of calcium lactate. Bioconcrete has higher engineering concrete properties and durability compared to normal concrete but the natural production of calcium ...

Establishment of a coculture system for Porphyromonas gingivalis and head and neck squamous cell carcinoma using spheroid culture and LATS inhibition

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
We established a spheroid coculture system enabling viable Porphyromonas gingivalis–HNSCC interactions under normoxic conditions. Inhibition of LATS1/2 maintains tumor cells in an undifferentiated state, which may promote spheroid growth and create a more permissive environment for bacterial persistence.

Modified Multilevel Fast Multipole Algorithm for Stationary Iterative Solvers

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2015
A modified multilevel fast multipole algorithm (MLFMA) is proposed to accelerate the partial matrix vector products required in each iteration of the buffered block forward backward method (BBFB), which is a stationary iterative solver used to solve ...
