Partially Coherent Direct Sum Channels [PDF]

open access: yesQuantum, 2021
We introduce Partially Coherent Direct Sum (PCDS) quantum channels, as a generalization of the already known Direct Sum quantum channels. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions to identify the subset of those maps which are degradable, and provide a simplified expression for their quantum capacities.

EEG effective connectivity networks for an attentive task requiring vigilance based on dynamic partial directed coherence [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Neuroscience, 2020
An effective network perspective focused on measuring directional interactions of electroencephalographic in different cortical regions during a sustained attentive task requiring vigilance.

Frequency Domain Repercussions of Instantaneous Granger Causality

open access: yesEntropy, 2021
Using directed transfer function (DTF) and partial directed coherence (PDC) in the information version, this paper extends the theoretical framework to incorporate the instantaneous Granger causality (iGC) frequency domain description into a single ...

Multivariate autoregressive model estimation for high-dimensional intracranial electrophysiological data

open access: yesNeuroImage, 2022
Fundamental to elucidating the functional organization of the brain is the assessment of causal interactions between different brain regions. Multivariate autoregressive (MVAR) modeling techniques applied to multisite electrophysiological recordings are ...

Resting State EEG Directed Functional Connectivity Unveils Changes in Motor Network Organization in Subacute Stroke Patients After Rehabilitation

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2022
Brain plasticity and functional reorganization are mechanisms behind functional motor recovery of patients after an ischemic stroke. The study of resting-state motor network functional connectivity by means of EEG proved to be useful in investigating ...

Inferring directed climatic interactions with renormalized partial directed coherence and directed partial correlation [PDF]

open access: yesChaos: An Interdisciplinary Journal of Nonlinear Science, 2017
Inferring interactions between processes promises deeper insight into mechanisms underlying network phenomena. Renormalised partial directed coherence is a frequency-domain representation of the concept of Granger causality, while directed partial correlation is an alternative approach for quantifying Granger causality in the time domain.

Partial directed coherence: twenty years on some history and an appraisal [PDF]

open access: yesBiological Cybernetics, 2021
Here while we reminisce about how partial directed coherence was proposed, its motivation and evolution, we take the opportunity to relate it to some of its kin quantities and some of its offspring. Emphasis is placed on our development of asymptotic criteria to place it as a reliable investigation tool, where the connectivity detection problem is ...

Mental Stress Management Using fNIRS Directed Connectivity and Audio Stimulation

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Neural Systems and Rehabilitation Engineering, 2023
In this study, we propose a method to enhance cognitive vigilance and mitigate mental stress in the workplace. We designed an experiment to induce stress by putting participants through Stroop Color-Word Task (SCWT) under time constraint and negative ...
