The partially discharged PbO2 electrode

Surface Technology, 1981
Abstract The impedance of PbO2 electrodes in 5 M H2SO4 at potentials on the negative side of the reversible value was measured over a wide frequency range. The electrode interphase was matched to a model which includes the adsorption of electroactive species which undergo a reversible redox reaction.

Identification of Partial Discharge Defects Based on Deep Learning Method

IEEE Transactions on Power Delivery, 2019
Since repetitive partial discharge (PD) leads to insulation breakdown, it is one of the most critical defects that affect operation life of electrical equipment.

Partial discharge XX. Partial discharges in air. II. Selection of line conductors

IEEE Electrical Insulation Magazine, 1995
Corona from overhead transmission lines causes radio interference, television interference, audible noise, and power loss. Overhead lines are designed to limit such corona-induced effects, which are a strong function of weather conditions. >

On line measurement of partial discharges

2000 Annual Report Conference on Electrical Insulation and Dielectric Phenomena (Cat. No.00CH37132), 2002
On line measurement of partial discharges of equipment while in service has a great deal of potential in saving equipment down time in gas insulated substations (GIS) and gas insulated transmission lines (GITL). To address this aspect of partial discharge measurement there is scope for considerable progress particularly in the area of cables already is

A High Sensitivity Optical Fiber Sensor for GIS Partial Discharge Detection

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2019
We propose a high sensitivity optical fiber sensor for detecting the acoustic emission generated by the partial discharge in gas-insulated-switchgear (GIS).

Modelling of partial discharge activity

2016 Diagnostic of Electrical Machines and Insulating Systems in Electrical Engineering (DEMISEE), 2016
This work deals with the models for modelling various kinds of discharge activity in the insulation systems. Models represent the failures in insulation systems as well as simultaneous action of these failures in the insulation system. The first part of the work deals with the distribution of types of partial discharge in respect of their displays when

Design and Application of a Circular Printed Monopole Antenna in Partial Discharge Detection

IEEE Sensors Journal, 2019
In this paper, the design and application of a circular microstrip antenna for partial discharge detection is presented. For this purpose, the truncated ground plane technique was applied for the bandwidth enhancement. In addition, aiming at an optimized

The Problem of the Partial Discharge Sources Enumeration in the HV Devices Insulation

International Journal of Electrical and Electronic Engineering & Telecommunications, 2019
The partial discharge (PD) is defined in the international standard IEC 60270:2000 as a localized electrical discharge. The IEC definition is largely academic and it isn’t oriented to practical purpose.

Partial discharge measuring technique

2001
The partial discharge measurement is a typical non-destructive test and it can be used to judge the insulation performance at the beginning of its service time taking into account the reduction of the performance during the service time by the ageing whereby the ageing depends on numerous parameters like electrical stress, thermal stress and mechanical

Partial discharges in dielectric liquids

2008 International Symposium on Electrical Insulating Materials (ISEIM 2008), 2008
In this paper, we have investigated the behavior of dielectric properties (partial discharges) of liquids of different natures (silicon oil, aromatic liquid). Partial discharges measurements have been done over the voltage range (0-25 kVpp). Two types of devices have been analyzed.
