Early metastasis is characterized by Gr1+ cell dysregulation and is inhibited by immunomodulatory nanoparticles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer metastasis is associated with myeloid cell dysregulation and the lung‐specific accumulation of tumor‐supportive Gr1+ cells. Gr1+ cells support metastasis, in part, through a CHI3L1‐mediated mechanism, which can be targeted and inhibited with cargo‐free, polymeric nanoparticles.

Classification of partial discharge signals by combining adaptive local iterative filtering and entropy features [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) is a measurement technique for Partial Discharge (PD) signals which arise in operating electrical machines, generators and other auxiliary equipment due to insulation degradation.

Development of a programmable partial discharge generator for the evaluation of partial discharge measuring devices

open access: yes2018 IEEE 2nd International Conference on Dielectrics (ICD), 2018
Partial discharges (PD) measurement provide valuable information for assessing the condition of the insulation elements in high voltage (HV) electrical grids. During the last three decades, several instruments integrated with specific technical functionalities have been developed in order to perform accurate diagnostics when temporary or monitoring ...

Device for online monitoring of insulation faults in high-voltage switchgears

open access: yesInternational Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks, 2021
Partial discharges are the major cause of deterioration in the insulation characteristics of switchgears. Therefore, timely detection of partial discharge in switchgear and potential insulation faults is an urgent problem that needs to be addressed in ...

Loss of proton‐sensing GPR4 reduces tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
G protein‐coupled receptor 4 (GPR4) is a pH‐sensing receptor activated by acidic pH. GPR4 expression is increased in patients with inflammatory bowel disease who are at high risk of developing colorectal cancer. In mouse models, loss of GPR4 attenuated tumor progression. This correlated with increased IL2 and natural killer cell activity.

Remote controlled partial discharge acquisition unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Online partial discharge (PD) analysis for underground high voltage cables has major advantages over the offline techniques. Online techniques usually involve PD data acquisition, storage and post-processing of the data.

Dose‐dependent induction of epithelial‐mesenchymal transition in 3D melanoma models by non‐thermal plasma treatment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Non‐thermal plasma treatment of melanoma cells induced epithelial‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in a dose‐dependent fashion. This report highlights the critical need to further investigate potential adverse effects of non‐thermal plasma for cancer therapy and to optimize treatment parameters for clinical translation. Despite the promising results of non‐

Sessile water droplets on insulating surfaces subject to high AC stress effect of contact angle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Surface pollution of outdoor high-voltage insulators is an important cause of flashover. We have undertaken an experimental study of electrical breakdown at the edges of a sessile water droplet on a planar, polymeric, insulating surface when subject to ...

Simultaneous inhibition of TRIM24 and TRIM28 sensitises prostate cancer cells to antiandrogen therapy, decreasing VEGF signalling and angiogenesis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
TRIM24 and TRIM28 are androgen receptor (AR) coregulators which exhibit increased expression with cancer progression. Both TRIM24 and TRIM28 combine to influence the response of castrate‐resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) cells to AR inhibitors by mediating AR signalling, regulation of MYC and upregulating VEGF to promote angiogenesis. Castrate‐resistant

Temporal extension of stable glow discharges in fluorine-based excimer laser gas mixtures by the addition of xenon [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The effect of addition of xenon on the long term homogeneity of discharges in F2and ArF excimer laser gas mixtures was investigated in a small-volume discharge chamber. The gas mixture in the discharge chamber was preionized by X-rays.
