Endogenous asymmetries in technology adoption and international trade. [PDF]

open access: yes
This note explores the interaction between trade integration and asymmetric choices of technology adoption. It seeks to bring micro foundations of Örm heterogeneity into an open-economy model.

Designing Thermally Compatible Template‐Coating Pairs Toward Dimensionally Stable 3D Porous Carbons with Tunable Density

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
3D porous carbons with tunable density are crucial for energy storage, separations, and load‐bearing applications; however, their fabrication is often constrained by shrinkage during pyrolysis. This study optimizes and demonstrates the versatility of a template–coating pair strategy, producing materials that largely retain their shape and hierarchical ...

A partial equilibrium model of Afghanistan wheat market

open access: yes
This study focuses on the construction of a structural economic model for the wheat market in Afghanistan. We create two models with alternative approaches to model closure, one based on a price linkage approach and the other using a trade linkage approach. The study addresses two overarching questions.

Golden‐Ratio–Guided Aperiodic Architected Metamaterials with Simultaneously Enhanced Strength and Toughness

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Guided by the golden ratio, a class of aperiodic architected metamaterials is introduced to address the intrinsic trade‐off between strength and toughness. By unifying local geometric heterogeneity with global order, the golden‐ratio‐guided aperiodic architecture promotes spatial delocalization of damage tolerence regions, leading to more tortuous ...

High‐Spatiotemporal‐Resolution Transparent Thermoelectric Temperature Sensor Arrays Reveal Temperature‐Dependent Windows for Reversible Photothermal Neuromodulation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Thermoelectric temperature sensors are developed that directly measure heat changes during optical‐based neural stimulation with millisecond precision. The sensors reveal the temperature windows for safe reversible neural modulation: 1.4–4.5 °C enables reversible neural inhibition, while temperatures above 6.1 °C cause permanent thermal damage.

A Note on Equity Premia in Markets with Heterogeneous Agents [PDF]

open access: yes
We analyze a static partial equilibrium model where the agents are not only heterogeneous in their beliefs about the return on risky assets but also in their attitude to it. While some agents in the economy are subjective utility maximizers others behave

Unprecedented Spin‐Lifetime of Itinerant Electrons in Natural Graphite Crystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Graphite exhibits extraordinary spintronic potential, with electron spin lifetimes reaching 1,000 ns at room temperature ‐ over 100 times longer than graphene‐based devices. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy reveals strong anisotropy: out‐of‐plane spins live 50 times longer than their in‐plane counterparts.
