Student Perceptions of Teacher-Student Relationships in General and Special Education [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Teacher-student relationships (TSRs) have largely been found to significantly impact student performance and achievement (Roorda, Koomen, Spilt, & Oort, 2011). The purpose of this investigation was to identify differences between the TSRs experienced

Control of Polarization and Polar Helicity in BiFeO3 by Epitaxial Strain and Interfacial Chemistry

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In BiFeO3 thin films, the interplay of interfacial chemistry, electrostatics, and epitaxial strain is engineered to stabilize homohelicity in polarization textures at the domain scale. The synergistic use of a Bi2O2‐terminated Aurivillius buffer layer and a highly anisotropic compressive epitaxial strain offers new routes to control the polar‐texture ...

Existence of invariant measures of stochastic systems with delay in the highest order partial derivatives [PDF]

open access: yesStatistics & Probability Letters, 2014
In this note, we shall consider the existence of invariant measures for a class of infinite dimensional stochastic functional differential equations with delay whose driving semigroup is eventually norm continuous. The results obtained are applied to stochastic heat equations with distributed delays which appear in such terms having the highest order ...

Predicting Atomic Charges in MOFs by Topological Charge Equilibration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
An atomic charge prediction method is presented that is able to accurately reproduce ab‐initio‐derived reference charges for a large number of metal–organic frameworks. Based on a topological charge equilibration scheme, static charges that fulfill overall neutrality are quickly generated.

Factorial validity and measurement invariance of a self-reported scale of paradoxical leadership behaviours: evidence from sport industry leaders

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology
IntroductionOrganisational leaders across all sectors are often faced with a dynamic, unpredictable and complex business landscape. Understanding leadership style is integral to optimising leadership and organisational culture and performance.

UTILITY FUNCTIONS ASSOCIATED TO RELATIVELY INVARIANT MEASURES ON PARTIALLY ORDERED LOCALLY COMPACT GROUPS

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica, 2002
Summary: Let \(G\) be a locally compact topological group (abelian or not) endowed with a left Haar measure and a left translation-invariant and strongly continuous strict partial ordering \(\prec\). We consider a positive finite measure \(\nu\) on \(G\), such that this order is \(\nu\)-separable.

2D Magnetic and Topological Quantum Materials and Devices for Ultralow Power Spintronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
2D magnets and topological quantum materials enable ultralow‐power spintronics by combining robust magnetic order with symmetry‐protected, Berry‐curvature‐driven transport. Fundamentals of 2D anisotropy and spin‐orbit‐coupling induced band inversion are linked to scalable growth and vdW stacking.

Assessing the measurement invariance of Free Will and Determinism Plus scale across four languages: a registered report

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science
Free will is assumed to be the core of an individual’s self-concept. Belief in free will has been studied extensively and was found to be correlated with many behavioural and psychological outcomes.

Facing off with Scylla and Charybdis: a comparison of scalar, partial, and the novel possibility of approximate measurement invariance [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Psychology, 2013
Measurement invariance (MI) is a pre-requisite for comparing latent variable scores across groups. The current paper introduces the concept of approximate MI building on the work of Muthén and Asparouhov and their application of Bayesian Structural Equation Modeling (BSEM) in the software Mplus. They showed that with BSEM exact zeros constraints can be

From Wafers to Electrodes: Transferring Automatic Optical Inspection (AOI) for Multiscale Characterization of Smart Battery Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Automat optical inspection (AOI) techniques in semiconductor fabrication can be leveraged in battery manufacturing, enabling scalable detection and analysis of electrode‐ and cell‐level imperfections through AI‐driven analytics and a digital‐twin framework.
