Partial Metric Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesThe American Mathematical Monthly, 2009
Scott models are topological models of complete partial orders used for Tarskian fixed point semantics of the lambda calculus. As of yet there are no methods for deriving Scott models from specifications of the "complete" objects beyond an arbitrary choice.

Bicompleting weightable quasi-metric spaces and partial metric spaces

Rendiconti Del Circolo Matematico Di Palermo, 2002
The theories of partial metric spaces and of weightable quasi-metric spaces are equivalent, as was shown by \textit{S. G. Matthews} [Ann. New York Acad.Sci. 728, 183--197 (1994; Zbl 0911.54025)]. The present authors prove that the bicompletion of a weightable quasi-metric space is weightable.

Partial soft metric spaces: Convergence

Journal of Interdisciplinary Mathematics, 2022
Matthew introduced a non-zero self distance which is called a partial metric as a part of the study of denotational semantics of dataflow network. In this study, we aim to extend the Matthew's notion to the soft universe and so, we give the definition of a partial soft metric.

Some Remarks on Partial Metric Spaces

Bulletin of the Malaysian Mathematical Sciences Society, 2019
In the present paper, some topological properties of partial metric spaces are investigated. Section 1 is introductory. In Section 2, after studying some general relationships between metric-like partial metric spaces, sequentially isosceles partial metric spaces and sequentially equilateral partial metric spaces, a special variant of Urysohn's lemma ...
