FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.Despite frogs avoiding low temperatures, examination of four salamander species revealed that none avoided cold and all possessed cold tolerance. Functional analysis of TRPM8, a cold sensor, showed that all salamander TRPM8s had lost their cold sensitivity.

, 2015 The orientation problem for ternary cyclic order relations has been attacked in the literature from combinatorial perspectives, through rotations , and by connection with Petri nets. We propose here a twofold characterization of orientable cyclic orders in terms of symmetries of partial orders as well as in terms of separating sets (cuts).

Evolutionarily divergent DUF4465 domains have a common vitamin B12‐binding function

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
FEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.
