PO-InC-APSO: An Improved Hybrid MPPT Technique for Grid-Tied Partially Shaded Condition Photovoltaic Systems [PDF]
Partially shaded condition pose significant challenges for the effective operation of Maximum power point Tracking algorithm in the photovoltaic system. These challenges include the potential for the algorithms to become stuck at local maximum power ...

Iron line profiles from black hole accretion discs with spiral velocity structure [PDF]
We calculate the iron line profiles from accretion discs with spiral velocity structures around Schwarzschild black holes. We find that quasi-periodic bumps appear in the the profiles, thereby providing a test for spiral wave patterns.

When subjected to partial shading (PS), photovoltaic (PV) arrays suffer from the significantly reduced output. Although the incorporation of bypass diodes at the output alleviates the effect of PS, such modification results in multiple peaks of output ...

Photometric stereo for strong specular highlights
Photometric stereo (PS) is a fundamental technique in computer vision known to produce 3-D shape with high accuracy. The setting of PS is defined by using several input images of a static scene taken from one and the same camera position but under ...

A multiphase seismic investigation of the shallow subduction zone, southern North Island, New Zealand [PDF]
The shallow structure of the Hikurangi margin, in particular the interface between the Australian Plate and the subducting Pacific Plate, is investigated using the traveltimes of direct and converted seismic phases from local earthquakes.

Short-term growth and biomechanical responses of the temperate seagrass Cymodocea nodosa to CO2 enrichment [PDF]
Seagrasses are often regarded as climate change 'winners' because they exhibit higher rates of photosynthesis, carbon fixation and growth when exposed to increasing levels of ocean acidification.
